To Triglav?

Tomorrow we plan to go to Triglav. Up from Vrata via Tominškova to Kredarica where we plan to sleep. Sunday then summit and valley. Some snow but melting. Anyway we'll call Kredarica for conditions but curious your opinion if ok to go up? Not winter hikers (ice axe crampons).

I'm wondering if a via ferrata kit is needed on the path to Triglav from Bohinj (via Komarča, over the 7 lakes) or can you go without it

Via Komarča there are some cables so just take it with you, you can always pack it in the backpack if it seems too easy. You need it anyway from Kredarica to Triglav summit, safe steps and good luck.

We also planned a two-day ascent to Triglav from Pokljuka via Planika hut. After talking with the warden at Planika, the situation was such that we canceled the hike. Today couldn't reach the summit, predict same tomorrow, some snow patches and low temp (around 0°C). Fog possible too, northwest wind blowing, not very pleasant.
If anyone goes anyway, safe steps!

Via ferrata kit recommended but not mandatory, via Komarča lots of unprotected sections where kit no use, path interesting but steep, to Triglav top kit not really needed, if afraid of heights take it, feel safer, we had it on Prisank via Hanza even not needed, only clip when taking pics.

Info from Kredarica: can't reach Triglav summit from Kredarica side cuz icy. Winter gear mandatory. Today fog up there and wind blowing. Recommend ascent to Kredarica where no pitons.

Yep, weather messed it up a bit. Triglav will stand another week. Or next year.

e.g. called Kredarica says 15cm snow all icy can't chop (Fri 12pm called), then see cam from Kredarica (Fri 9.30am) before call shows no snow at all just patches here there.

Now really don't know who's nuts,,going next week Sat sure nice weather, maybe Fri Škrlatica sleep Vrata then Triglav Sat.

Check Vogel webcam, second weekend per ZEVS forecast bad weather snow below 1500m.

Yeah, this weekend really isn't favorable for ascending Triglav. It's also interesting that on hribi.net, the five-day weather forecast for peaks, they still hold the forecast from Wednesday to Sunday, today is already practically end of Saturday. I thought the forecast looks ahead, not back...

Today to Triglav from Krma past Kredarica. Weather sunny (at least morning), not much snow, and what there was southern. From Kredarica to Triglav pegs and cables mostly snow-free, snow (however much there was) also southern on Triglav, melts hour by hour; didn't seem problematic to me. Didn't see crampons or ice axes in action. I had small crampons in backpack, ice axe stayed in car. Both would have hindered me if used.

For descent from Kredarica I treated myself to some snow tongues. Got a bit of winter that way.
