To Triglav?

Last year end June on Tominšek path (north access) still quite snow so without ice axe and crampons on exposed parts no go. Given heavier winter this year I'd say snow lasts till July.

Two years ago I witnessed heavy snowfall at bivouac IV on Rušje when I spent the night. First there was thunder with lightning, then a little later snow in chunks pouring from the sky with NW wind. It snowed over 10 cm all the way to the Stenarska vratca branch or bivouac at 1800m.velik nasmeh

I think triglavski has answered the question, I am almost of the same opinion as him. On the north sides there will probably be snow patches left. That which fell from Saturday to Sunday will probably be gone tomorrow. It was quite annoying, "cokle" formed on crampons.

How many paths lead to the top of Triglav and which is the easiest?

looking at the map I see
1 path from Kredarica
2 paths from Dom Planika left and right
over Škrbina and Mali Triglav
1 from Luknja
and
1 from Tržaška koča

interests me which of those I listed is the easiest?
thanks

There are quite a few routes to Triglav, everyone has to think for themselves which one suits them best. For me personally the nicest route is through Luknja, but it's long and can be really strenuous for some. I don't think it's right for vertigo sufferers. Probably the easiest for most is via Vodnikov dom, start from Pokljuka. Many hikers probably have different experiences. Every mountain needs to be respected.
Nice greetings!mežikanje

If ridges bother you, better go from Dolič, but back the same way... or through Plemenice... that one isn't easy... as Tadeya says, everyone finds their own, according to fitness, VERTIGOnasmeh)) and wishes...
Safe steps!

antik- Which route is harder? Very relative for me weather conditions are essential. For first-timers I recommend Pokljuka-Vodnikov dom-Planika, preferably in dry weather because the rocks are quite polished and in wet can slip easily.
good luck on the way...

Antik I don't know how you have almost a month in advance a fixed date for Triglav, what about weather, will you go anyway if forecast is bad, I check weather forecast at least three days before going to high mountains. Since there are many routes to Triglav decide according to your experience, if first time to Triglav I recommend from Pokljuka or from Krma, both lead to Planika hut. Good luck, maybe we meet, I'll note the date. Nice greetings....

yes, holiday is 22.06 so that's why I plan that date, but colleague gives advice:
Check snow conditions and ask on forum if that route is safe, because from Planika it can be tricky even in summer! best time for triglav is end of 7 to mid 9...think!
So I'm thinking, since I have quite some experience but taking 2 friends who don't really have experience for such thing, so I'd ask which route you'd recommend for those 3 days, of course I follow forecast and go only if nice weather, if thunderstorms, then cancel trip,... so what would you recommend for 3 days, we don't have to climb triglav if it's still too dangerous and demanding then, but if we start from Rudno Polje and Vodnikov dom, or from the other side from Koča na Savici ..is there maybe some other peak there, less demanding, where there aren't many exposed parts and snowfields..looking at map. Kanjavec, V.Špičje..?
thanks

Does anyone know the current condition of the route over Prag or Tominšek route? Interested because I plan early July on that side of the mountain, though I doubt conditions will allow it.

yesterday I called and found out Vodnikov dom is still closed and opens 23.06. Interested if the hut at Kredarica is open year-round and if Planika hut is open? Would go up from Krma.

I plan end of June for three days to Triglav. So interested how's the snow, over Sedmeri I think no more. How's over Hribarce, then from Dolič to summit, most worried about Triglavska škrbina and then descent to Kredarica or Planika. Anyone have info how's that part where you enter the wall from Kredarca or Planika?

Thanks and nice greetings!

Currently the upper part of the Triglav Lakes valley is still under snow. Wait, maybe the new heatwave coming will melt a lot of it.

I'm wondering if Blejska hut is open all the time (I think it is), but what about Kovinarska hut, is it open?
And is Dom Valentina Staniča still open?
Thanks

I'm wondering if Kovinarska hut is open and if anyone has gone recently from Krma to Debelo Peč? Is there still a lot of snow and are crampons needed on that route?

And how is the path from Kredarica to the top of Triglav?
Has anyone been there recently?

I'm mainly interested in the fixed protections (pegs and cables) on the path from Kredarica to Triglav summit? Are they covered in snow or not?
thanks
