To Triglav?

jesus9. 07. 2013 13:35:51
Hello!

With friends (5) we've been arranging for quite some time to conquer Triglav summit and see Triglav Lakes.

Since this would be our first time I ask for possible advice on departure date, accommodation, easiest route and other stuff beginners need to know.

If topic already exists sorry in advance, as I'm new user of this portal.

thanks and best regards! nasmeh

zbric...this Saturday we did the route /Krma- Zg. Krma - Konjsko sedlo- Planika- Triglav. No snow anymore except at the start of the path from Planika to Triglav (which causes no problems). Also to Aljažev stolp completely on dry ground, though the tower itself is still partly snowed in. No snow visible towards Veliko polje either...lpnasmeh

@LG: Yes, it would be dangerous for slipping if temp dropped below zero... Lately that's far from the case and snow even on snowfields is softened... That's all about the snow... Second part of your claim holds truenasmeh

I heard kurica is dry,, now also asking you if it's true - or if it can be crossed without having to trudge through snow

thanks

Today I did a classic tour to Triglav from Vrata. Started half an hour before sunrise. Up Tominškova (since I haven't gone up it for a long timejezik ) and back over Prag. The last part of that famous snowfield on Tominškova will break someday and is potential hazard. It can be crossed without issues, ice axe for better feel. In the morning uphill I met at least 50 black salamandersnasmeh. User lukapet already described all these conditions before and I have nothing to add (they remain practically the same). At the summit a bit before 8:30. Nice, fairly warm and quite a lot of people (more than expected -> Kredarica does its thingjezen). 95% were foreigners of course... Descended back to Kredarica and down the ascent route to junction (2200m), then up to Staničeva koča, where I'd praise the friendly warden who showed me the brand new stampvelik nasmeh. Then followed only ski enjoyment on snowfields and return to valley via Prag path. Lp!

@jesus regarding the date you'll have to decide yourselves, as basically you go when weather forecast is fairly solid, you can overnight at Vodnikov dom, Planika or Kredarica, (definitely reserve before), check routes here http://www.hribi.net/gora/triglav/1/1

and if beginners it's good to have someone with experience from 2000ers, I recommend route via Planika.

Where are you from? Is anyone from MB going? I'm ready to guide you on this route via the Triglav Lakes. I hiked this route two weekends ago. The ascent takes approx. 9-10 hours, with breaks, snacks, photographing. The tour is of course two-day, this route is suitable for those in good condition.

hi Jesus... We did a nice tour 2 years ago. We started from Pokljuka (Rudno polje) past Vodnikov dom to Planika. We slept there and the next day went to Triglav, back to Planika, to Dolič, over Hribarice to Prehodavci, where we also slept. The third day we went past all the lakes through Komna valley (some of us chose Komarča). We left one car at Savica so it was easier to get back to the start. There's also a taxi option. Anyway, it was a very nice tour. We took the easier and longer one because we (some) weren't exactly in the best condition.
Safe trip!

thanks everyone for the replies!

@uros1: we're all from the Celje region
@scgristina: great tour! We'll probably choose the same as you. Where can I get the contact for the hut at Planika?

thanks in advance!

Today to Triglav from Krma, start quite early, so I was up at 8.00. Fog and clouds accompanied me all the way, but when I stayed at the top for about half an hour, clarity finally appeared, but it only accompanied me to Planika, on the way back the same story with fog and clouds. Conditions are without peculiarities, winter gear no longer needed, worth mentioning only the snowfield right at Planika, but it doesn't cause problems as it's trampled. Perhaps worth mentioning also that one had to be quite careful on the descent through Kurica due to slippery rocks and stones. There were quite a few visitors at the top, slightly more foreigners than Slovenes.

I'm wondering if they've fixed the road to the ramp in Krma (a few weeks ago it was very bad from the basin onwards)?
