August 15th is a date that, in case of nice weather, I would avoid Triglav by a wide margin. But maybe I'm wrong.

It seems that Triglav is this year a very popular "tourist destination"...

A few years ago I was up there on 15.8 - first and last time. From Kredarica to the top I needed 2 hours (instead of usual 1). I waited more than I walked. True, I did the one-day variant and went to the top when the two-day ones were just returning from the top.

I really didn't know it's such a popular destination, for me it's just a mountain I'd like to climb I was thinking of going to Planika on the 15th, sleep over, next day to the top and on to Prehodavci, but if there's really such a crowd then I'd rather not...

Triglav has always been and will always be a popular destination. Another question is why.

On 15th August really a huge number of people go to Triglav.. at Kredarica there's a holy mass every year too... so better to choose some other day if you don't want crowds all the way..

grdksmrt; Tominškova route to Triglav is one of the harder approaches to the Father. Route not recommended for dizzy, beginners, kids and poorly equipped tourists. 20.7. ice axe was mandatory for this route, because in one gully below Begunjski vrh there was still snow patch making crossing (descent) trouble. And that snow will last a while, so careful and firm step!

That snow patch is already passable, a bit hampered but dry along the path. Picture from Thursday 25.07. and a bit worse due to early morning hour.

Today at midnight we started in Krma and via Planika to Triglav to wait for sunrise. Sun appeared at 5:36. Colors and shadows of rising sun were fantastic. Experiencing sunrise at Slovenia's highest point is really special.

Nice . Unfortunately for me on Thursday such views were not given. First, because I missed the alarm and started from Vrata only at 3:15, then due to low clouds the sun hit me only at 6:30 right below the summit. But I had the luck to enjoy the summit alone for a few minutes

Hi team, I'm interested in one thing, what is the definitely easiest ascent to Triglav regardless of distance, and if possible without using a safety harness, at least not to that part right towards the top of Triglav? Surfing the net there are a million trails and as far as I've figured the northern part isn't really for beginners! Thanks a lot

Krma - Konjsko sedlo - Planika - M. Triglav - Triglav or Rudno polje - Studorski preval - Vodnikov dom - Konjsko sedlo .....

The easiest approach below Triglav is definitely from Rudno polje on Pokljuka - but it's also the longest.

@Miroslav Instructions for ascent from Pokljuka, officially the shortest variant, to Planika almost without technical problems): http://www.hribi.net/izlet/konec_ceste_na_pokljuki_triglav_cez_planiko_in_mali_triglav/1/1/133. Equally good is the other variant from Rudno polje. The only difference is that you leave the car already at Rudno polje in the large parking lot by the hotels/barracks/ski center (instead of driving further as per instructions). In fact, it's the standard path from Pokljuka, marked everywhere. You'll walk 20 minutes more but drive at least 10-15 minutes less. In any case, start very early because of the heat and sun! Happy trails!
