Road to Krma won't be plowed, which means 5km morning hike from the last farm, and to mandatory gear add a shovel for breaking snow, if you can drive a bit further by car. Around 10 hours up and down, up not as fast as in summer. Parking the car in the morning is tough, on return it sinks a bit and you get stuck in snow. Also Kranjska Gora-Vršič won't be plowed anymore, no more Mojstrovka "after shift". Road to Vrata is/will be closed due to snow.

For such snowfalls you can probably drive to Kovinarska hut, as altitude there is around 800m, so lower I think no snow. To Vrata road not closed, no barrier - so road is open, question is if you reach Vrata by car - now still possible. How from tomorrow on, don't know.

I just can't understand that after all the winter accidents in the mountains there are still people who can't wait one week for the snow to settle at least somewhat and get compacted. What drives you into this nonsense? As long as you're alive, the mountains will always be there, plenty of nice winter days in the coming months until spring. Hey, use your brain, hands and more...just once screw up...
Good luck!

bostjanp... I think it's more "showing off" than serious intent - (some just have nothing better to do or want to feel important! Those who really rush into disaster I'd leave them and pick up in spring mežikanje

I wasn't on Triglav, but on the "path" to Triglav. nasmeh Conditions difficult, high snow avalanche risk. So I circled on Triglav High Path above Planina Konjščica.

Couldn't find better thread, search here on site really bad and practically impossible to find suitable thread. Urgently update. If moderator finds better thread move it.

But worth taking snowshoes then? Would do loop Rudno polje - Zajamniki - Uskovnica - Konjščica - Rudno polje. But can snow be expected on Uskovnica at all?
