Thanks for the warning, Mako, although I didn't notice any major drop either on ascent or descent, the hikers' tracks were mostly along the top of the ridge. If there was any drop, it would be at most on the south side, because the wind mostly comes from Vrata. The fifth guy from the group on top seemed completely reliable to me; practically the whole ridge is exposed and no need to step even a step out of the track, because you were visible all the time. Good luck

All respect to the skier for the descent from Triglav. Writing that someone is a nosy parker for watching this descent seems inappropriate to me. That's why we have eyes, to see something. There are already too many "deaf-mute and blind" people in the mountains, now even from those whose senses still work you demand they look away.

And now Mako with his offensive remarks towards others has settled here too..

Pikica and Peter, I think Mako with his "nosy parker" didn't mean anything bad, he just wanted to warn that he is standing on the ridge at a drop, which just seemed to him, there were no such drops on Sunday in fact. I was at the top at the same time with all three and they seemed really nice to me. We descended at the same time, they along the flank, me along the ridge (picture 14). We saw each other once more in front of the Dom, and nobody mentioned anything.

Well let the hiker or mountaineer tell you. You wrote so nicely and respectfully about them, and he just stabs you with a smartass remark.

The cornice was there and still is, just like every year there, only not visible from above.

All who settle scores on personal level should read more carefully what's written in comments. I wasn't on Triglav these days. Quote copied from Vertikalovci page. Those who skied from Triglav summit on Sunday.

Aha, Mako is just the middleman warning Šodrovci about dangerous cornices from the armchair. Sunday skiers were Grega, Samo and Marjan, who would like payment for viewing the show from the box (cornices). Ha ha. Thanks to you too, Marjan, for the warning, and show up on "hribi net".

but no point in "smartass" ... Marjan obviously got goosebumps when he saw where you stand (over the edge-if right)..not that you watch them.. similar was (or still?) this year on Viševnik.. When I went from Srenjski pass to top I also looked to the ground rather than people on top literally "in air" standing....nothing wrong if someone warns (quotes report) on such "traps" here too..

Was up yesterday, went 3m below track. Actually track on cornice and someone stepped a bit further out from it.

Annoying thing, such a track. If I went up, I'd walk on the track without hesitation because I'd think that people who go to Triglav in winter know what they're doing... I know that each is responsible for themselves and their safety, but still misleading.

Response and reaction to lijaneja's invitation: Sorry for my vocabulary - "firbec". Sometimes I like to poke a bit or just say things my own way. Sometimes it's readable, sometimes I kick into the dark. Anyway, I'm not academically highly educated and I manage with my modest word treasure This time I just wanted to point out the danger of the cornice. With "firbec" I just wanted to attract the attention of the blondies, obviously it worked. Now more people know about the cornice Whoever knows me knows I didn't mean to offend anyone with this. Otherwise I most like to make fun of myself, at least no one can complain. You've all already said it nicely in detail. I agree with Daaam's thought: "... Marjana obviously got chills when he saw where you're standing..." The cornice is actually there and it's not small! Be more careful, take care of yourselves

Oh Franci what heavens for our eyes, hope you've still got some strength left, to delight the friends of the mountains many more times, who don't have such a strong and brave heart.

Franci, excellent shot (no.14) of a very dangerous section on the ridge. With strong thawing and simultaneous load of a few hikers, it might break exactly on the track. Who would want (and know how) to forward this picture to the weather guys at Kredarica, maybe we save someone's life. I wish for many more such "firbcev".
