Rozka, if the question was for me, I'm usually at work on weekends so won't be up there, Špelcka, 25.6 went past Planika saw snow down to first rocks and bit higher below entry to slanted gully, given conditions not much snow melted, further to summit dry. Sometimes my pal went home from Bovec to Stara Fužina many times and back, not over Triglav but nearby, now prefers driving around though road takes almost longer than walking.

Does anyone perhaps know if the path from Vrata via Luknja and over Plemenice to Triglav is passable without winter gear? And how would the descent to Kredarica be, and via Tomiškova or over Prag to Vrata? Maybe in another week an easier ascent from Pokljuka or from Bohinj? Thanks and good luck!

I really don't know if you're messing around with these dumb questions or can't click back to a page where it's all described. Otherwise I suggest you stay home another month, because in July the snow won't melt yet.

If the weather stays crappy and cloudy, conditions will be as triglavski described. I believe it's a bit unusual for hikers in summer to step on a summit without boots touching snow. This year that's how it is, so still take at least an ice axe on the tour to kick steps in the snow and then it's easier on the path right away. If it cools down after cold fronts pass, then crampons are mandatory too. Good luck and safe trip in this moody summer.

I've been to Triglav already 25 times, but always up and down in one day, you need stamina. I always call Dušan the Kredarica keeper he tells everything 100%, hasn't let me down till today. I also want to go up this week and I'll let you know how it goes. The best for me is from Vrata via Luknja to the top and down via Prag. Fantastic. I wish you happy steps in the mountains.

25x on Triglav, that's a lot. I like this path too, with the difference that I get to Luknja from Zadnjica, I also most often do everything in one slightly extended morning. As for Dušan I strongly doubt, because apart from weather forecast he gets from weathermen he doesn't know much about paths, since he hasn't walked them at all. This week the weather will be more sour, at week's end veterans will go up too, so on Friday Kredarica will be full.

I've also been planning a Triglav hike for a while, June snow stopped us, now even more sour weather. Otherwise I always call the weathermen on Kredarica and here on Hribi.net I get lots of info, so nothing has surprised me in my 30 summit ascents. Unlike you two (neni, triglavski) I always go at least two days, first because I'm quite far, second because mountain mornings are priceless so I overnight at least once. Best regards! P.S. triglavski, do you know the snow conditions in Plemenice, Triglavska škrbina?

Through Plemenice it's dry, further on the slabs there's snow, also some in Triglavska škrbina. Otherwise it's well seen on the picture above, conditions taken on 3.7 from Mangart unchanged.

On Tominškova path (also elsewhere) still snowfields. For ascent mandatory crampons, ice axe and helmet, for less experienced self-belay kit not superfluous.

Hello! End of month going to Triglav with 15-year-old son, (I was once 9 years ago via Prag to Kredarica). Last year did several easier hikes, last two-day loop from Planina Blato to Prehodavci, over Hribarice to Dolič and via Velska dolina to Jezerski preval to Krstenica to Blato. To Triglav from Pokljuka to Planika where overnight. Same day also path Planika to Kredarica and back. Curious what that path is like. Know descriptions of all paths, only this one completely unknown. Thanks for answer. lp.

Yesterday went from Krma to Triglav. Path is ok, goes a bit slower if you hit a herd of cows going to nicer and higher pastures for summer Quite a few people at top, weather held. Nice day.

As far as I know, the path from Pokljuka is closed due to avalanche.
