Hi,
for quite a while I've planned a winter Triglav visit, but no luck finding the right people.
I have some high peaks and distances behind me, mostly in solo tours, summer, autumn. Here I'd like to join experiences.
So I decided to find a team among you. If someone's willing to take a hairy soul, I recommend myself. zavijanje z očmi
Best, Dejan

Hello,

I decided to look among you for someone to lead.-

@Irena - I don't know what the path is like, but definitely you need at least ice axe, crampons, helmet (and knowledge to use them). Avalanche transceiver wouldn't be bad.

Up to Kredarica, the only danger is that the sky falls on your head.nasmeh

#1mitjas.. please don't mislead people. If it were really like that, what about the avalanche-prone section under Kalvarija? So please..
True, the ascent to Kredarica from Krma side in winter is the most frequented and recommended, but it's still not a walk in the park or completely safe and anyone can decide for it!

Marky, since when is helmet mandatory on avalanche terrain - if you didn't get it, my comment was about it.

Luka: Triglav in winter is an alpine ascent. To Kredarica you get in good conditions (when not too avalanche-prone) without major issues. Still, you need ice axe and crampons with you - and know how to use them - a course is good, or test walking in crampons and ice axe arrest at home when there's snow. Mountaineering clubs regularly organize trips at least to Kredarica - so that's an option. For the summit it's good to have an alpinist or very experienced mountaineer with you - or lots of mileage on demanding winter ascents.

Whoever thinks mountains are a joke, better not even go to Šmarna gora. Experienced guide from Meran, whom I met at Zwickauer hut, told me for many parts of central Alps that some areas are known as Killing mountains!, including Barre de Ecrins (Haute Dauphine range - France)
Statistics of all kinds of accidents with winter ascents even just to Kredarica are not small.

@Irena, to Kredarica there shouldn't be any problem currently, maybe no fresh tracks, but I assume on such a nice day as today surely someone went and made them...if you're early it's good to have crampons, also ice axe on backpack and knowledge to use both won't hurt, sun is strong and melts during day later freezes at night and can be a bit icy...enjoy the nice day up therenasmehnasmehnasmeh

Lukak, we can arrange and do some tour together, later maybe Triglav too. Winter Triglav is technically quite demanding, and can be dangerous on some parts.nasmehnasmeh Tomorrow or Friday morning Grintovec if you have time.

Currently really no avalanche danger. Gaiters, ice axe, let's go, and crampons along just in case.

The path sinks a bit, crampons stayed in the backpack, that's the situation to Kredarica, no one has been to the summit yet.
