I'm wondering if it was possible without winter gear - ice axe. The two of us were at Prehodavcih, they advised us there were still quite a few nasty snowfields towards Dolič so we returned the same path past 7J.

Yesterday with friend we started from Vrata via Plemenice, fixed protections all ok, no snow except on ledges still some but nothing scary. Triglav notch also almost dry so crampons and ice axe not needed. At the top beautiful sunny weather with little breeze. We descended to Kredarica where also no snow except under wall some little but can pass without problem. From Kredarica then we descended over prag where also no snow anymore except on ledges. Wonderful day not to miss it.

Hello. Just wondering if the path via Plemenice is really so technically demanding as some say. For me it's the only remaining route to Triglav, wondering if it will cause me trouble. Otherwise I've already done several more technically demanding routes like the ascents from Planika and Kredarica to the top. Best thanks for reply. Lp

I haven't been to Triglav via any route yet but from what I've read and heard from colleagues who've already "climbed" to Triglav, Plemenice are quite demanding. If you look up from Luknja, you get the feeling like you're climbing vertically upwards. So my opinion is that the routes you mention are quite easier or compared to Plemenice much less demanding.

Hello. Been to Triglav many times, I know most routes around there, but one is still completely unknown to me - direct route from Planika to Kredarica. Can someone please help, what is this route like (thinking about difficulty and current conditions, if there's any snow field, other features...)? Thanks in advance for the answer.

The route you mention is a bypass around Mali Triglav to Kredarica. The path first goes slightly downhill through rocky terrain, then we step onto long, sloped scree fields that wind all the way to the flat area at Kredarica. The route is easy in dry conditions, in snow ice axe use isn't superfluous. Walking time for a fast hiker less than one hour, otherwise good hour. For view of the section see tour under Triglav (descent from Triglavski. in reverse direction).

Nice greeting to mountain experts. End of August, if weather permits, I'd like to ascend Triglav with my not very experienced 10-year-old son and at the same time visit Planika, Kredarica and Stanič, probably from Rudno polje direction. Please advise how to do this circular tour most easily.

achilus The path over Plemenice is really among the more demanding ones, but when you climb the first part of the path which is steeper (my 2 pics), the path gradually levels out and for me this path became the most beautiful. A bit of fear but that's welcome. I've gone this path three times already and increasingly understand the mountaineers who say this path is a beauty. And this year lots of beauties on 4 legs, which shows nicely in the pictures. Nice greeting and good luck!

The simplest is to start in Krma and go first to Stanič dom (path drags on), from there to Kredarica where you overnight, next morning fresh start to Triglav summit and descend past Planika to Krma. If from Rudno polje then variant Planika-Triglav-Kredarica... just adding Stanič then is weirder (unless same way back Kredarica-Stanič-Kredarica) to Rudno polje. GOOD LUCK

From Kredarica you can go over Rž to Stanič and then over Konjski preval to Vodnik hut and back to Rudno polje or from Vodnik hut to Planina Konjščica then to Rudno polje,... and more variants you find in descriptions of hiking paths on this site... Š

On 17.7.2009 we went to Triglav from kota and the same day to the top with me was 12 year old daughter and friend's 10 year old walking for 9 hours without problems. Next day kredarica-planika-dolič-prehodavci-tr jezera hut 7 hours. Stay at hribarice. 3rd day further to planina pri jezeru to vogar and to stara fuzina. Kids despite many hours walking happy. So if you have been to Triglav before take the boy with you.

I wonder if I need a via ferrata kit for Triglav via Škrbina for 12 and 13 year olds.

If you ascend from Planika, just take it, as it's not heavy. Even more important is the helmet, because the path from Planika to the Triglav Saddle is quite crumbly in the lower part, from it onwards to the summit practically almost no longer relevant. LP Andrej

Bravo Triglavski and Franjo! Glad Franjo visited his kingdom again. Wish both vigor and many more mountain visits. Yes, the tower we really won't give, what would G. Aljaž say to all this? When time comes we will protect it together on summit, police throw into abyss if happens between ridge Mali and Veliki Triglav. There centuries ago sharp as razor, approachers had to crawl on all fours, climb over.

What is the path like on route Krma-Kredarica-Triglav-Planika-Vodnikov dom-Krma? Any peculiarities, snowfields?
