On Wed 9.9. Friend and I plan to conquer Triglav from Krma via Kredarica. How about snow that fell today. Still safe enough or better postpone departure? Thx for info.

Look at this pic and judge yourself, I think not much snow and it'll melt today

The zero isotherm is fairly low, up there it's cold. It'll melt it, but maybe not right away.

Today on Triglav.
Morning frozen snow, more from Kredarica direction. Careful, but ok. From Planika path completely dry. On Mali Triglav ridge some snow, no big issues. Otherwise Očak besieged from all three sides today. Morning weather...to shout about.

Hello,

does anyone maybe have some information about the condition of the path through Plemenice after the last snowfall.
Thanks.

The path through Plemenice was yesterday morning (Tuesday, 8.9.2015) mostly bare and dry. Only on some higher sections there was some partially smoothed snow. So extra caution is needed mrk pogled.

Also yesterday (Wednesday) under the Triglav notch from the direction of Plemenice or Dolica it was still quite icy.

Hello,

on Saturday we're heading to Triglav specifically from Krma Valley via Kredarica.

Does anyone have useful info on snow or any advice?

Thanks for reply.

hello,
on Saturday I'd go to Triglav from Vrata via Tominšek path. Wondering if there's any snow on the path to Kredarica.
Thanks!

Was any winter gear already needed through Plemenice or just caution? Planning for Saturday

dragon10. 09. 2015 20:58:08
I doubt there's still any snow on Plemenice itself. Yesterday I went from Dolica and from where the paths join to Triglav notch there was still some snow and ice. I went without winter gear, since there's not enough snow to even use it and there's none on larger part of the path. Descended via Mali Triglav to Planika. That path is bare, from Kredarica still icy. Saturday will probably be better already, so just boldly on the way. Wherever you go be careful on the path and good luck.

I've been thinking for some time about going along the old Kugy path, which starts at the remains of the former cargo cableway, and joins Bambergova at the end. The path is poorly visible; some faded markings are still visible. If going for the first time, it's better with someone who knows this path, as you can get lost quickly. It's beautiful and scenic; a herd of ibex was grazing, here almost no one disturbs them.

Triglav, as befits it, besieged also this weekend, since there was the hike of 100 women to the top.
This time a completely different picture of the hut at Planika than a few days ago, pleasant atmosphere and talks with participants and of course those responsible for this hike. Hikers already in the valley, as they summited on Friday, we two still to the top.
Congrats to all participants of this interesting action.

This time to Triglav a bit differently. Went with home mountaineering club - PD Škofja Loka. Started at parking behind planina Konščica on Pokljuka. Parking totally full - 100 women returning from Triglav. Then pleasant path over Studorski preval to Vodnik hut. Promised wonderful weather. View of Vernar above hut enchants. Then past Cesar to Konjsko sedlo towards Planika. There reserved accommodation. Now decision to go to Triglav via approach unknown to me to Triglavska škrbina. Quite demanding approach taking you direct to Triglav top. Well protected, quite some rock climbing in between. Quite some scree on path, bit annoying. At top surely over hundred hikers piled up, more coming. Hardly got turn for photo at tower and baptizing first-timers to Triglav. With us 13-year-old and 77-year-old lady - only bravo. Down usual path to Planika. Weather cloudless. Second day woke to foggy morning. Returned to Dolič, hut obligatory stop then through foggy Hribarice to sedlo Vrata and path Za Kopico over two planins to transport at planina Blato. Truly unforgettable Triglav won't forget easily.
Before Studorski preval.1
Studorski preval - sun.2
Mali Draški vrh is also already in the sun. I haven't been up there this year.3
Already before Vodnikov dom - mighty mountain above - Vernar.4
At Vodnikov dom there is a crowd - 100 women returning from Triglav.5
Soon we spot Cesar-2098m. More pathless than unmarked path leads to it - reportedly the approach is quite demanding.6
Konjsko sedlo.7
Planika.8
We slept here.9
The weather is wonderful. Decision made - to Triglav via Triglavska škrbina (Gorjanska pot). I've never been there before.10
Entrance to the notch, scrambling starts immediately11
And the first fixed ropes too.12
And fun sections where you rest a bit.13
No other way.14
The notch is well secured.15
A little more and Triglav summit.16
Triglav summit with Aljažev stolp.17
Our proud thirteen-year-old.18
Of course the baptism follows.19
The lady says it's for the last time.20
Back to Planika along the usual path.21
Brave boy, he even had an injured finger, of course accompanied by an experienced guide.22
Mandatory group photo at Planika.23
Almost evening greeting from our dad.24
Is it evening or morning, judge for yourselves.25
Second morning - photographing myself in glory.26
Back to Dolič - the path is secured here too.27
On the way to Dolič.28
Dolič and foggy Hribarice are behind us, we are already at sedlo Vrata and from there to the path Pod Kopico. A break was mandatory here.29

Under pic no. 6 you've got Cesar. I climbed it myself last week returning from Triglav. To me ascent didn't seem particularly demanding. But then found on this site under Mountain List description saying Cesar is actually neighboring hill lying sort of northwest of that in your pic. Maybe someone knows how it is. Thanks

Velkavrh, excellent. How would you compare difficulty of path over Triglavska škrbina with other approaches?
Thanks.

Probably 'velkarvh' will give his opinion, more different opinions nothing wrong, mine is this, path over Škrbina naturally more demanding than over Mali Triglav from Kredarica or Planika, also harder than from Dolič over Škrbina, less protected and at exit from Škrbina nasty scree field awaits, time must be well chosen as sun burns hot there, well now autumn so no big heat issue, but Saturday around 11 strong thunder in that part.

regards!
