Don't scare hikers and female hikers, how dangerous it is in winter in the mountains. Condition: considering current conditions... If you have gear and know how to use it, the experiences will be just fine. Avalanche gear is mandatory!!! If you want to go on rocks with crampons you need winter boots mandatory, otherwise you slip, trip, twist and it's even dangerous to fall with summer boots. That they bury them at Kalvarija I don't wonder about, if then 3rd avalanche level, if you had waited until at least 1st level it would be all fine. So far I've been 8x on Triglav in winter.

Ljubitelj, the order is not right, in my opinion experience and gradualness are in the first place.

I agree with joža_x. Knowledge and experience allow us to recognize danger and assess terrain conditions ourselves, which occasionally vary from the general avalanche forecast or weather forecast (depending on the season)...

First you need gear to start learning; the fact that someone starts directly with winter tours without knowing the summer basics is quite risky. In winter the route goes a bit differently, already because of the risk in those places where there is greater avalanche possibility. For example, Kalvarija: the winter route goes on the right side of the Snežna konta summit and not on the left, as the description says; also under Prgarca the winter path goes through the valley and turns left upward and not along the slope. Anyway, it depends on the snow height and on where the first one tracks or if someone knows how to pull the right route sooner or later. That's why to Kredarica, Triglav there's always something special with the track.

We learn on the go, that's why knowledge, practice, experience of others is always welcome. Even instructors last year, the year before did maneuvers in mountains (crevasse above them) GRS wrote about it. Unfortunately or happily, some like to be first on terrain, greater chance someone gets buried and as someone already wrote, he had avalanche gear with him and among numerous hikers, mountaineers detected only one signal, then everyone knows what time it is.

Better to borrow gear first (at PD, Iglu, etc.) and then attend some course, there you learn how to use the gear and what to watch for on the tour (scope depends on course and training purpose).

If we have lots of money, of course we can buy first gear and then, if we missed the purchase (wrong ice axe size, wrong crampons,...) sell it and buy new cool

So, if I combine both my posts, for the tour we need:
-knowledge and experience (various courses, guided trips, AŠ)
-gear [technical and personal] (when we have some knowledge about gear we acquire it)
-knowledge of current conditions (monitoring avalanche conditions, trip reports, temperature tracking, etc.)

When we have all this info we decide if we will "realize" the tour or not...

Nothing wrong if on the tour we realize we won't reach the summit because terrain conditions don't allow it...

Good luck and best

What are you waiting for, just put one foot in front of the other, for you it's a real walk, if you get stuck somewhere call free heli and no more problem. Better take two mobiles, because that touch one freezes easily like a chicken in the freezer. eektongue

The road to Vrata at least for now was not scary. Trodden to Luknja, then end of track as it turns left to Bambergova. To the start of the secured part of the ascent to Plemenice summit needed tracking up to waist-deep in places, we retreated a lot to rocks. Further much better and ZTP also passable normally-all blown clean. To summit no problems. Descent to Krma.
The day was beautiful.
