And you've hardened it up top. It went without gear. Otherwise always when snow dumps, masters show up when it's iffy without gear nasmeh

there's a snow patch up there, and I met about 10 foreigners who said they're going up without winter gear. Probably already a highway.

Bambergova
Started hiking at eight. Drizzling a bit before Luknja. Light snow from 2200m on. At ZTP and later in the notch big concerns about continuing to summit, due to lightning. Foreigners back to Dolič, me to summit via slightly better conditions. Descended ascent route avoiding possible storms on dangerous ridge. Snow fell only 10 to 12. Crampons not needed.

Bambergova/2864m/Planika/Kredarica/over Prag
Dry to Luknja. Above initial ferrata snow began, very annoying esp. on marked path. Deep sinking. At ZTP different, less snow as windy area usually blown clean. Put on crampons, necessary in such cases. Notch snow-covered and all way to top. South slab snow-free in days due to thaw. Descend highly recommended path to Planika, as wind-crust snow makes Kredarica path unsafe. Cross upper path to Kredarica. Descent over Prag. Slabs crusty, still lots snow for deep postholing. Snow ends above Medvedova skala. Many foreigners descending and ascending even late afternoon.

I think there's no such fear. In the resounding campaign of August 2009, when Ekar was still leading it, we firmly opposed this initiative.

Unfortunately, someone removed the banner soon.

On 8.8.2009 we defended it, a little over a hundred supporters gathered at the tower, where Friends of Triglav organized a rally in support of preserving the tower atop Očak. I'll never forget how Igor and I shook hands when I reached the top via Plemenice . . . how happy he was with all of us who risked our reputation too, not just our voice and took to the road. Igor is sadly gone, but the tower still stands. And rest assured it will stand for a few more generations!
