I have a question for experts, or experienced mountaineers. Why do most of you "attack" Triglav in winter from Kredarica, isn't it easier from Planika? Thanks for the answer nasmeh

Probably because at Kredarica you can get something for body and soul. The weather guys are really cool dudes and deserve all praise for the catering. mežikanje

That it's easier from Planika I've been saying for years. Conditions like now no problem and you're much quicker over the chimney, Planika to the top. But when there's no good base (chimney...) you won't easily reach Planika. Too easy again isn't good though mežikanje

Triglav (11.02.18)

After a week the meter of new snow has more or less settled. Skiers attacked, we two snowshoers were the only ones. Conditions good to Kredarica, but not for walkers. For now they can go only a bit further from the woods or must turn back to the valley before exiting the forest. Ascent to Mali Triglav not really worth much praise. After first crossing hard base, then too loose. From Mali to Veliki without issues. Return over Planika and upper traverse accompanied by known Triglav visitor. On descent annoying sinking even with snowshoes.

The late Igor Zlodej often took it from Zajnca to Triglav. Sometimes over Komar to the top, other times via Kugyjeva, third time through Korita to Luknja and from there up. Search this forum back to the beginning, first few dozen pages when Igor signed up as @triglavski. You'll learn a lot from his descriptions and photos.
