We also went to Triglav on Saturday. Weather nice (as Matjaž1 mentioned), but only until around 1:30 pm, when a thunderstorm with hail came over Triglav, lasting about an hour. So many turned back, including us. After the storm I went alone around 5:30 pm to the summit from Kredarica, the others hoped for nice Sunday morning, which they got, so we were a bit after 8 am already on the slightly foggy summit. Quite a few visitors, descent to Kredarica still in nice weather further towards Pokljuka all the way in fog. LP

Viharnik, Francelj also had written that he goes to the mountains in all weather, because only then you won't go only in bad weather.

Huts are apparently all fully booked, so said the lady from Planika.

On Monday 6/Sept ascent from Trenta via Plemenice to Triglav. In Luknja it was blowing annoyingly and fog obstructed the view, later in Zaplanja and on summit pleasant, just no views. Path solitary and even on summit mid-afternoon no one to photograph me. Well later some visitors gathered. Dom Planika and Dolič practically empty compared to peak season. Yesterday on descent it poured.

Nice greeting! This weekend we planned with group to go to Triglav but all huts fully booked.. Wonder if anyone has experience with unannounced hut visit (mainly Tržaška at Dolič), do unannounced hikers get "place under roof" for overnight, even if dining room At Kredarica so far no problems.. Thanks! LP

According to the adopted rules, the hut keeper cannot refuse you, even if everything is full; they must provide a roof over your head. I myself have no such experiences yet, because it is better to reserve accommodation much earlier.

I'm wondering if there are still good conditions to go to Triglav from Zadnjica? I'd go tomorrow - a day trip. Thanks.

Why not, no snow fell up there. Check pro-vreme, what it was at 3000m those days. It was +°C.

You can go far even with flip-flops, and socks didn't tear! Where were guardians of hikers?

Igor, even some iglujevec convinced me for some Teva "mountain" sandal similar to that in picture, maybe slightly better sole and explained how good to walk over Komarča and to Triglav lakes. But I think such preachers and users of such footwear already have completely snowed brains and like for shoes think life is just self-evident, without content and respect to Him who enabled it for some purpose and not just so.

Looking at these photos I wonder what first ascenders were walking in. And I don't mean Kugy or Scopoli and similar, but locals, shepherds, hunters... Footwear is key, but mostly depends on experience, skill of hikers.... Not how many chamois I met every time I was around Vrbanov Spitz, Krnica behind Cmir and around Begunjski vrh or Kriški podi. In Grintovci you meet them no doubt on long ridge and Rinkami... They are really skillful... One, two, three, and they're gone, you'd need a string to follow them....

Yesterday the weather on Triglav was just as you'd wish, so the crowd was accordingly. There was slight ice in places, but the sun soon fixed it. Torn cables at two spots, noticed markacisti have new ones ready for replacement. On top views more than wonderful! LP

Today I also ran into improperly shod and dressed people, some even took (by their account) 3 hours from Planika to the top. That couple then wanted to descend to Kredarica (Israelis). Anyway, Today summited via Plemenice, descended to Kredarica, then to Staničev dom, from dom behind Cmir to valley. Snow patch on plemenice can be bypassed right (snow is hard, crossing without crampons not recommended), on top clear for another 15 min, then fogged up, descent no problems to Kredarica, just past hut then to Stanič. Behind Cmir path shown by trodden gravel and cairns, last jump nicely climbable. Walking time: Vrata-Triglav good 4 hours. Total with stops a little less than 10 hours. Lpp

On Saturday 11.9. we went from Vrata valley via Tominškova path to Triglav. Already from the valley we saw light fog around the top. Climbing the ledges of Tominškova path was a real pleasure for experienced mountaineers. There was a huge crowd at Kredarica, which continued all the way to the top. On the top there was a real party, provided by the accordion. Despite not the best views, the feelings for me, first time on Triglav, were unique. Path well secured, only issue very polished rocks.
