To Triglav?

Print

sk2: I'm curious if the path from Kredarica to the summit is already dry?
And does anyone know what the path from Vrata to Kredarica is like... I'm interested in the "ČEZ PRAG" path...

Many thanks to all for the information

We went via Planika, according to information there's snow at the start (Kredarica) but none further on.

From Kredarica to Triglav summit snow is only at the path's start, before the first pegs. From Kredarica to Vrata there's still quite some snow in the upper path section (see pic), while lower (the prag path itself) is dry according to midday visitors.

Hello, I'd ask those who've been to Triglav, is the path from Kot too demanding for a beginner, we've been several times to Mali and Velika Mojstrovka, wondering how much harder the path itself is than that tour on MM, no vertigo issuesnasmeh, ...greetings

You went from Vršič to Mojstrovkas, to Triglav the easiest path is from Krma or Rudno polje, but from Rudno polje longer, so I'd recommend from Krma, to Planika no fixed protections, further to Triglav there are protections, but the path is very well secured, just no vertigo or fear of heights.
If you're scared I recommend going with PD that organizes trips, search a bit on the web.
I went alone, completely suddenly decided during the path on AC, first time, alone without experience and first time over 2300m, if foreigners hadn't gone to Kredarica ahead of me I'd probably go back towards Planika, because that path to Kredarica is really steep but well secured so I went to Kredarica and descended back to Krma, Kredarica-Krma has no protections.

For a beginner the best path is through Krma. It drags a bit but is not demanding. From Kredarica to the top of Triglav it's like to Mala Mojstrovka via Hanzova- or even a bit easier to Triglav.

@ljubitelj gora

we went from Vršič, but as I mentioned we have no issues with that path, and fitness is not in questionvelik nasmeh,...we plan to go to Triglav in August, for two days of course, so I was a bit curious about your opinion as you're already old cats, if I can express it like that, for such tours,.. so thanks a lotmežikanje

I suggest circular namely http://www.hribi.net/izlet/koca_pri_savici_triglav_cez_triglavska_jezera/1/1/248, back then to RP to Pokljuka. Beautiful tour, worth every step. Otherwise Tominšek's from Vrata isn't bad either. And it's fast, with some fitness you're at Kredarica in three hours.

I'm wondering if Dom Planika under Triglav is open for overnight stays. On the PZS website it says it's open but under renovation.
thanks

It's open. I stayed Saturday/Sunday last weekend. If you want to go to Triglav, the path from Planika and Kredarica is completely dry (except snowfield right by the hut, but not a problem), while the path through the notch is still impassable without winter gear (approach from Dolič). Wondering if the Plemenice via ferrata is passable and what condition the cables are in? (if someone did it this year, please write a few words). Tx in advance.

On Monday my colleague and I descended from Triglav via Plemenice to Vrata. From Triglav summit to the junction for Dolič there's one snowfield before the Planika junction, but you can avoid it. Some snow still in the gully too, where you can also bypass it. From the Dolič junction towards Plemenice there are still some snowfields, but flat terrain, so no panic. The path via Plemenice to Luknja itself is dry, cables in good condition.

PS: For the approach from Dolič to the notch it's still good to have an ice axe and crampons, otherwise some scrambling along the edge is needed.

Beautiful hot day. Start from Krma to Konjski preval and Planika. Then over Mali Triglav to the summit. Descent to Kredarica and via calvary back to Krma. My companion excellently handled the all-day tour. On the path itself no peculiarities.

what do you recommend, reserve beds at Planika or will there be enough space?

Better to reserve, it costs you nothing.

Best to reserve. Yesterday phones were ringing for reservations both at Planika and Kredarica. I was accidentally nearby when they talked about reservations.

tomorrow Saturday 2.7 we plan to go via Tominšek path, without winter gear recreational hikers. Weather looks like showers in afternoon.

Anyone else planning to visit Triglav this weekend, maybe some advice on path and weather?

we thought of going up this weekend too, bit longer tour, today afternoon via Tominšek to Kredarica, tomorrow wait for sunrise on top, down to Dolič, Kanjavec, past hut at Prehodavci to Zadnjica to Koča pri Izviru Soče, but postponed to next weekend, or Friday after work....
apparently over weekend won't be exactly so bad, but still better to go if forecast a bit better than this weekend

Here they are the most accurate: Meteo. It
Otherwise watch out, the upper gully still has snow, a slip there is fatal.
This is how the gully looks, picture is from last year, but this year it's the same, maybe less snow.
