And the "rock" (landslide) still not removed?

I inquired myself at PD Srednja vas. A friendly lady explained that the path is still officially closed, but passable at own risk.

The path is still closed indefinitely, because experts found upon inspection that a large overhanging rock above the path at the site of the otherwise repaired landslide needs to be removed (announcement today on radio).

We talked yesterday at this place with experts and mountain guide and mountain rescuer path is cleared and they allowed us passage, but already at the beginning of the week mountain guides led foreigners past and when one warned them of danger, he just waved his hand so, if they wouldn't allow us, we would turn back, as I think it's stupid and irresponsible to challenge fate the notice about passage is really nicely written and almost on every goat path, so I can only praise the informing

At the beginning of next week we are heading from Vrata via Prag to the top, and I'm wondering if there's any drinking water along the path or how much water per person is good to carry in the heat.

PATH FROM KREDARICA TO STANIČA VIA RŽ IS MARKED. IT IS SOMEWHAT EXPOSED - CABLES AND PEGS BUT NOTHING SPECIAL FOR HIGH MOUNTAINS.

As far as I know, there is no drinking water on the path over Prag, if you meant some spring. In the backpack put at least 2 liters of liquid or better too much than too little.

Well Grozdana didn't say anything new, although she yelled at the top of her voice, Brane71 also knows little about water. Below flows clear Bistrica, higher there's Begunjski studenec, where water usually never runs out.

Jutri_pa_res: Everything depends on weather conditions, how much liquid is needed. I carry 5 liters of water on similar hikes, but if it's very hot even that's too little (I've carried up to 8L). Otherwise nice greetings to everyone, I've come here too.

Marta, nice greetings! Regarding the description of the path Kredarica - below Rž - Staničeva hut, I would join the opinion or path description of my predecessors. Otherwise, it's different with the summit of Rž. From the above-mentioned path, you'll see a nicely laid path on scree to the saddle between Rž peaks; there the visible track ends. The path to the summit is exposed, there's quite a lot of scree on it; if you're not used to such paths, I advise against it. Otherwise, on the summit there's blissful peace, as few people go up there. LP Andrej

I have hiked quite a bit in hills and mountains, but 8 l I have never carried with me. Sure, you can buy it in the hut, the spring delights us. You're exaggerating a bit, Marco-Slo.

I myself recently walked in the Julijci and was quite surprised when I noticed that a bottle of water at the hut at Dolič costs a whole 4.5 euros. In addition to the water above the sink barely flowing, there's also a notice above it about it not being drinkable. So, in my opinion it's better to carry one more liter of liquid up there.

1. day: Savica - seven lakes - Dom Planika. 2. day: Dom Planika - Triglav - Planika - Krma, is the route feasible for a moderately experienced (4*Triglav) mountaineer? How many hours of walking total on the mentioned route? Thanks.

I'm curious how difficult the path through Plemenice is? I got practically all answers- from nothing to very demanding.

Bojan, when in doubt it's wise to check some guidebook. Tine Mihelič in the "Julijske Alpe" guide writes: "... The slopes are very open and exposed, the path is secured only where necessary. Therefore this path requires a mountaineer with a sure step. ..., it is the most difficult approach to Triglav. ... Only trained, well-equipped mountaineers who do not know vertigo should undertake it. The path is long and strenuous, orientation is also somewhat demanding, ... Nevertheless, we can warmly recommend this path to trained mountaineers. ..." So, no dilemma, the path is very demanding. How you perceive it depends on many factors. You can influence the subjective ones! I speak of experience, psycho-physical readiness, equipment and knowledge how to use it, choice of the right day, ... How you will present this path to others later is also very dependent on your experience and especially on your personality. That's why you got such different answers and that's why (I repeat) it's wise to seek answers (especially) in guidebook literature, where objectivity is expected. Good luck when you go there and peek over the Wall from close up! Of course with crampons! Regards

Greetings. I'm heading to Triglav, so I'm interested which route you recommend where I'll see as much interesting stuff as possible and the route itself is interesting (climbing...) Experience and fitness are not a problem. Thanks for the help. Iztok
