But I can't agree with you. I don't belong to, in your words, the rabble that boozes in the mountains, but without aids I'd only look at many mountains from the valley. And I'd be wrongly deprived of many things.
Probably the problem is also that boozing is tolerated, instead of publicly despising drunks.

Ljublitelj, I don't get why after every tour you do you emphasize that you were alone. Even if ten go with you, you'll have to do the path alone, no one will carry you. Just turn one page back, the female mountaineer did the tour alone. If you're ever scared, you just shake a bit and it's nasmeh It's already clear from the description if the mountaineer is alone on the path, so emphasizing that seems unnecessary to me. Regards

Because I really went alone, she also wrote it. And an ascent planned by only one person or 3 people is a big difference, what do you think it was 2 years ago when I first went alone to Triglav from Krma, from Planika onwards I met mountaineers and they gave me the atmosphere, the will to conquer the summit or do you think I would have gone to the top alone if there was no one there at that time, probably not, also when I first returned to Kredarica (aim back to Planika) I went behind a smaller group, we didn't know each other but we all had the same aim descent to Kredarica, if I had been alone then I wouldn't have gone with more and more ascents on demanding tours the fear slowly faded.

Completely different story if 3-5 people go somewhere. I like going to the mountains, I don't have such a username for nothing.

Come on, don't some of us escape to the mountains just so we don't have to put up with such things? I don't know why there's no respect, just proving who's better. Does someone really lack so much self-confidence that they feel threatened every time someone brags a little, or god forbid someone else praises them?
Some really talk as if they've "got God by the balls" velik nasmeh

From the last few posts I couldn't figure out the conditions for Triglav. Why??? Because they don't belong under this title at all.

@velkavrh
I love hiking a lot, if Saturday or Sunday is nice there's no problem, I can go again. I'd probably leave the poles at home. Could be another ascent, another route. But I tell you, the path is much more strenuous than the one we took to Jalovec.

Yeah, yeah, sometimes (or always velik nasmeh) it's good to keep your ego under control. Of course we know that today's society encourages just the opposite, since to get a good position in society (respect, reputation, good job), you have to be at least very good or the best in one thing. That's why we are what we are: aggressive, competitive to the end, we care only for ourselves and hate those better than us because they are better (that better one is in heaven for a while, at least until someone even better comes :tonguenasmeh. I don't know why we still continue with such thinking, since I hope it's clear that it will never lead us to any longer-term happiness.

Well yeah, at least when we go out into nature we could a bit forget what we can't forget in civilization. Maybe that would be the first steps to real happiness. zadrega

That's just my humble opinion, of course.

Hmm, yeah, I see this post has little to do with Triglav, right. Maybe someone could move this "our debate" somewhere else... or not. mežikanje
There are plenty of marmots under Triglav and if you are a bit sly like a fox, you can watch them for several minutes from very close.1

I can confirm that -ljubitelj gora- is a really nice guy. No panic, a successful mountaineering future awaits him, say. My generation was also faster at his age. I hiked with him to Jalovec from Tamar via Jalovška škrbina, he surely wouldn't have tackled it alone. I was the slower partner, but we safely went up and down full of nice impressions.

just @Lothar:

Respect? Reputation? No, those aren't the first priorities of an egoist at all. Good job? Depends on what a good job is for whom?

What do I mean? The 'egoism' encouraged by today's society is far from true egoism. An egoist takes care of himself and his needs first. Reputation, respect, prestige... are secondary to him. Aggressiveness, competitiveness - only as much as needed for him and his needs. Hate the better one? No, exploit him!

The so-called 'society' or those with influence and power, of course have a reason to encourage wrong 'egoism'. Those are the real egoists! For the others it's a problem because only they are egoists! Where would we get if everyone took care of themselves first and only then others, and quasi-values like 'reputation', 'respect'... wouldn't matter to him by themselves? Then no one could exploit, cheat, mistreat anyone... Precisely those who now live off this quasi 'egoism' would have the world collapse!

Hey gang, please stick to the topic and don't stray off-topic! If you want to debate mountaineers' values, make a thread in "Other" (btw, it would be an interesting topic mežikanje).

Back to the topic; does anyone know until when the keepers are at Triglav Lodge on Kredarica? Until mid-September or October?

If the weather is nice they'll be up until end of September and maybe a few days into early October.

Is there a user ignore function here, like on other forums?

Otherwise, I'm tempted to go running up Triglav again this fall. Anyone joining me? Due to chaotic traffic, running so far in peak season time wasn't possible.

Horror! Well for him I don't care, but if something happened to someone else he of course wouldn't be guilty at all.

One accident three years ago when a dog pulled a hiker into the abyss apparently wasn't enough.

And if he's such a tough guy let him try something like that on a comparably difficult path somewhere in Austria or Italy where it's of course strictly forbidden. If lucky someone will just remind him (don't know how they react to 'mind your own business' there!), it wouldn't be bad if some mountain police fined him.

Often people don't think at all (neither about their own nor others' safety), important is just to brag to neighbors later that Fifi, Mufi or whatever climbed Daddy, hello??!
