You can join us in September, if the weather is OK we'll go with Velkavrh....it's not worth it before, this week it'll be very hot in the mountains and probably rain, better to wait.

maybe someone knows someone or a group that has accommodation reserved this weekend (Sat-Sun) in Triglav huts, but maybe not going or the group has extra space in reservation... Need accommodation for 4 people... Thanks for info.

We reserved a month and a half ago for those days. At first I was a bit worried about the weather... Look at that, those days there's impossible heat, so the weather's working for us. Best to call Kredarica or somewhere else if they have anything free, if not no big deal to sleep in a dining room. Happened to us before, ended up fine.

Hi! Interested if anyone knows the path from Vodnik hut at Velem polju to Tržaška hut at Dolič? Approx difficulty of the path and elevation difference? Thanks in advance..... nasmeh

If you go via Velska dolina about 2.5-3h easy walking. Path ascends steadily, admire livestock on pasture, maybe marmots... Elevation 600m. Or via Planika, that path has some fixed protection, nothing demanding, time-wise equal. Here you enter rocks, gain another 100m height.

Trentarji used to go to Vrata and on to Mojstrana via Luknja. For me a bit short, so started at Log in Trenta, over old Lepoč pasture, across Trebiški Dol to Zasavska hut where I had a small errand and on via Kanjavčev police past Dolič to Triglav. Path itself no specials, very few people, those I met were "sun-fried", where are the lively Slovenian girls. From Triglav down to Kredarica, virtually no one on path and on via Tominškova to Vrata. On Tominškova I've said many times last time down 'cos such ugly descent nowhere, but always tempts me and this time too. In Vrata transport waiting and we drove to Dovje to Pr Katr. All under 7 hrs.

Igor, you started really almost at the bottom, even lower than Šmarna gora or Katarina pass, otherwise nice long tour using western shady slopes.

I too was yesterday on our dad, starting at 2 from Prekmurje and evening at 8 already back home in Prekmurje, views really nice but heat in the afternoon really baked. Nice greet to all met on path; PREKMUREC

Interesting and quite a long route to the summit you chose Igor.
Via Tominškova down to Vrata, but in my opinion still a much better choice than over Prag, which drags on like "chewing gum".

The only plus of descending via Tominškova is that you end up almost right in front of Aljaž's hut. But your feet get numb from the stairs for a while velik nasmeh

Exactly @gregcs1, from the Klin to Aljaž it's really not far, those artificial stairs are pure boredom and couldn't be more strenuous, I really don't know why they built them zavijanje z očmi

Definitely the most suitable and will remain so for descent via the Prag route.

Like many others I was also on Triglav today. Zadnjica - Luknja - Plemenice - Triglavska škrbina - summit (at the top there's a guy playing accordion. Is that standard now or what?) - Planika - Dolič - Komar - Zadnjica.
First time on Triglav at 11 years old, 11 years later again (this time alone). On the summit in 4.5 hours. Sun is scorching (sunscreen mandatory). Fluids are priority. Could have managed with three liters, but at the end I drank another liter from the stream crossing the end of the Komar path. nasmeh

A little EPP for Pr Katr inn...super inn, super food and service. Recommend...after some nice hikes in Gorenjska.

Yesterday very early, still in the dark, boldly (a bit scared) I set off towards Luknja and from there via Plemenice climbed to the top of Triglav. Along the way I met some friendly people who treated me to perfectly ripe plums, at the top it was a real party, as a young guy was playing accordion, another selling drinks and t-shirts.... there were quite a few people of different nationalities. Then I descended to Dolič and returned to Zadnjica via the new for me Komar path (didn't meet anyone there), which surprised me a bit with its steepness and occasional exposure. At the exit of this path, as Tomažke wrote, there's a cold stream where you can soak your feet and drink. Really nice, special day for me!
