Today on Uršlja surprisingly many people. Path not yet fully trampled (Grofovska). At the top little wind, view super.

Ah that's why I saw no chamois, because you scared them away before. Železarska was icy like an ice rink, but with crampons traversed in under 70 mins. Grofovska ok lower muddy southern. At top classic cold wind, view solid.

Today was trudging to the queen of mountains. Tour from Ivarček via Železarska lasted almost two hours and a half. Snow from 70 to 140 cm. Snow dry, weather damp and foggy. At top -5 degrees and surprisingly no wind. To second cross path not much trouble, then last tough part against road, lots of drifts and snow to waist. Road ok, ratrak took care so it's like that. Then instead of road we went to make track from arrival direction from Križan as also from bench up. That was dangerous, had to crawl too. And with efforts and sinking went all to top. View foggy, access to top demanding - very foggy, hard orientation and lots of snow. Before hut 2.5m drift offers nice shelter. Path done because behind us went another team of five hikers (they bit smallish, that two bulldozers front test fitness, power and endurance and make track) and one touring skier so you have track groomed and for weekend again lively mess.

I was on Uršlja again last Sunday. The weather wasn't anything special (snowing, extremely thick fog and very strong wind + buckwheat mush already at the hut). I went along the Železarska path, which was well trampled all the way, only from the chapel onwards the wind blew away all traces of predecessors right away. In the last 200m before the hut almost every step sank to the waist.
I'm attaching a picture from a week ago that I found by chance. The entire slope tore off right under the hut. One of the alpinistic sections supposedly the day before exactly there (or nearby, I'm not precisely informed) was conducting an alpinistic school.

Yesterday return to Uršlja. Up and down Železarska. Lots of snow, path kinda southern, fog border up at little barrel Studenčko. Shortcut past bench not trampled so go on road and then easy up. Up top real winter fairytale, sun, clear no wind, few clouds, hut drifted, path to top poorly trodden in interesting direction. Cross base under snow and logbook box kaputt. Such tour tires ya especially if from valley on foot.

Hi!
As was visible today at the junction with the Železarska path, the path from the Postman's hut is not trampled. Trudging in conditions like today's is not recommended (heavy, southern snow that sinks in).

It's better to go up from Ivarček, but if you insist on going up from the Postman's then try the path Čez kal instead.

After yesterday's early return, today to the top of Uršlja. Up there real Russian winter. Conditions from yesterday and today can't be compared at all. Lots of people mess, snow like cake. Church and chapel drifted in.

Fresh tracks from Uršle. Every time I go up there's more snow, today we went so that even treading didn't give us too much trouble. Path is made, touring skiers polished it so it'll already be like a highway, only problem when it'll be necessary to go on Monday or Friday.

Today on Uršlja gora there were quite a few visitors, snowing on Ivarček, stopped midway, dense fog and wind at the top. About 10cm new snow fell. The candle by the path reminded me of the sad event of the previous day.
Misfortune really never rests.
