On 12.6 at 4 o'clock I left from Poštarski dom to Uršlja. I surprised some wildlife. The path is in satisfactory condition, since I was still full of strength for my plan. I reach the Mountain without problems. I drink tea and head towards Križan. You can walk nicely on this side too. At Križan I continue towards Andrejev dom, later towards Smrekovec.

Yesterday I made an evening visit to Uršlja. Up Železarska down Grofovska. Path is dry and without peculiarities. But first sauna to the first bench, then already mountain climate and wind. But I didn't manage to catch a single chamois grazing.

Yesterday I was returning home via Smrekovec and Uršlja, and we got caught by a heavy shower with thunderstorm just before Križan, so we sought a bit of shelter under the roof at Križan, then rush up. Up there we learn that Uršlja took another life yesterday this year.

Yesterday up Železarska and down Grofovska. Path muddy and slippery especially Železarska. At the top pure autumn, hat really comes in handy, at least it drove the flies away a bit.

Today 08.10.2013 I was up there. Ascent via Železarska, descent via Grofovska. Železarska path is very muddy and slippery, so I recommend Grofovska path especially for descent, it's dry except the first part. Woodpeckers enjoy this weather - saw three. At the top no fog, no frost either. But Uršlja was a real oasis amid fog-covered peaks, so no views. Hut open every day until 15.10., then only weekends.

Today we decided for Uršlja gora.
We started at Ivarček, on Železarska path, which isn't too slippery. During ascent met some friends. The mountain was quite visited today. We returned via Grofovska. Still time left to visit Kremžer.

Tomorrow Sunday probably mass on the mountain or, Urška has name day. Just let them know that nobody said anything would be published. Weather will favor us too, since tomorrow there still shouldn't be snow on Carinthia so see you up there. Good night.

Because it's proper and fair, today on the name day of St. Ursula (martyr and patroness of love in marriage and intercessor for charity, bread, must, wool and true Christian faith) I ascended the Mountain. Hike start was at 09:50 at Naravne Ledine. At noon on the Mountain in the highest church in Slovenia solemn mass in honor of St. Ursula. Since weather served well, consequently quite a nice number of hikers, pilgrims and believers gathered on the Mountain.

We used yesterday's nice Sunday to visit Uršlja gora. We started from Andrejev dom on Slemen around 9:00, and reached the top of Urška at 11:30! At the top it was windy, but that didn't spoil the excellent view towards KSA, Carinthia, Austria,.. pics follow!

On Saturday, 2.11.13 I was up there. Cloudy, cold, windy weather. Quite a few people already in the morning. The Železarska path was quite muddy, the Grofovska one very pleasant. No views - surrounding peaks in fog.

Real Russian winter on Uršlja. Up the Železarska path and down over Kozji hrb. Snow starts at 900 m. First a bit frozen, then crusty sugary snow, then proper from 20 cm onwards, at the top around 30 cm, with drifts and lots of them, sinking in up to the knees. On the path some fallen trees, road to top impassable. At top cold and north wind. Paths now trodden except from Poštarski dom direction.

The road is already passable, of course for snowcat. Trees have already been sawn and removed from the road. It's already possible to ski tour down to Ledine. Otherwise, today quite a few visitors up there, wind a bit less than yesterday, still very cold though, temperature around -9 to -10 degrees. Winter starts around 1000 m a.s.l.

Today we visited Uršlja gora starting from Slemen. I couldn't find a description for this variant on this forum. But for Velenje folks it's the fastest access. The trail is nicely marked, about two hours to the top, even today with purely winter conditions. Nice tour, nice winter idyll.

@sini, the description is on Hribi under Ciganija-Uršlja. The trail is still wintry although there is little snow and it is icy. For the descent we put on "chains", it was much nicer to walk. Otherwise visited from all sides, as befits such a nice day. The westernmost peak of the Karavanks, rich in fairy tales and the church of Ursula, patron saint of virgins. But since apparently there is not much success here, she is also patron saint of marriage. So now you know.

Is there another path from Velenje side (lower start) to Uršlja or only this from Ciganija?

I'm not an expert but sometimes an observer... From Šoštanj the first markers start (must be pretty long), along the road to Slemen there are also at least three signs, so probably the hiking trail crosses the road there. If you want 1400m elevation and 6 hours, Šoštanj is an option. And some 20 km. All one way, of course.
