It's possible on any path, only from Poštarski I don't know, although small crampons might be welcome

Now that it's a bit thawed, small crampons are recommended everywhere. Paths are trampled and slippery.
NO snowshoes needed.

Path past Vernarce is practically IMPASSABLE.

Best road to Ivarčko Lake (asphalt)

Hello. With a group of about 25 people we plan to head out soon (next Saturday) on the route Poštarski dom - Uršlja gora via Kozarnica - Naravske ledine. I assume all three huts are open on Saturday. We'd arrive at the starting point (Poštarski dom) by small bus. So I'm interested in the following info:
1. drivability of the road Slovenj Gradec - Poštarski
dom
(is it plowed, chains needed)
2. how much snow on the path via Kozarnica to
Uršlja gora, is the path trodden, is snow icy
or soft, crampons needed or possible
just with hiking poles, are signs
(blazes, direction signs) satisfactory
3. how much snow on the path Uršlja gora -
Naravske ledine, is path trodden, snow
icy or soft, crampons needed or just
hiking poles, signs satisfactory
4. is road from Kotelj to Naravske ledine
drivable for small bus (plowed, chains
needed)
5. is descent to Ivarčko jezero more recommended
due to bus access or even return back to Poštarski dom
6. will conditions worsen significantly with
forecasted cooling and snow next
week and is it already suitable time for this
tour or better wait until snow
completely melts

1. To the last farm below Poštarski dom is asphalt. Road is regularly plowed, as there's another farm beyond the hut.

4. Always plowed, otherwise gravel. I assume if logging trucks drive, small bus probably too.

For conditions next week need to look into crystal ball. velik nasmeh

For all these questions and answers you'll have to go on recon yourself. That's usual for guides, they check the path and conditions themselves.

Thanks again everyone for help! Yesterday we finally visited Uršlja gora! Path from Andrejev dom on Sleme nicely trodden, yesterday sank in spots. Due to new snow crampons no help, but I think for descent on steep sections not superfluous. For now possible without. Carinthian beauty we'll visit again for sure, owes us views nasmeh

Yesterday at summit. Via Železarska gora up and down. Such peace on Sunday on the mountain not for a long time - pure foggy fairytale. Conditions for walking surprisingly good. At start slight sinking - nothing serious. From bridge up super conditions. No gaiters or crampons used. No moisture or slipping jezik

. A bit below summit sinks in properly at spots. From church to top nicely hard and about 15 cm fresh snow. Almost no wind. If 300m higher surely in sun. At top still at least 1.5m snow. From Kozarnica and Grofovska untouched. Classic approaches of course trodden.

Hello! Interested in current conditions, given warm and sunny weather last week. How much snow or even icy patches left? I'd like to go up Saturday morning, wonder if gaiters and/or crampons needed. Thanks in advance and nice weekend everyone nasmeh

Yesterday went to check how much snow left. From Ivarčko via Kozji hrbet and power lines to summit and descent via Grofovska back to Ivarčko. Path bare to top of Kozji hrbet, bit below Luže snow starts, mostly southern. Summit many bare parts, some snow where drifts were. Very warm up there yesterday and poor view due to desert dust. Other side snow to Đizus, then less, from stream down bare with bells and gentians. Touring ski descent possible only down the gully.

Today on Uršlja gora very warm, no snow anymore, but edelweiss already in full bloom.

Yesterday on Urška via hidden paths amid wonderful auriculas. We started at Ciganija and already there our guide took us on an interesting path past Kotnikov križ to Križan. Then above the former Šisernik farm in the forest we turned off the marked path and blindly trusted the guide again. Higher in the forest we sat by a somewhat unusual chapel. Then came an adrenaline-filled climb steeply upward past many wonderful rocky gardens of auriculas. The beauty of the auriculas on Urška is really incredible. All dusty from auricula pollen we reached the summit, which was just the icing on the cake of the wonderful tour.

On Saturday to Uršlja. Ivarčko-Kozji hrbet-summit-Šmoharca-summit-Grofovska-Ivarčko. Went to Šmoharca to see the cross. Weather humid and fog here and there.

Cross and flag to see the wind direction.

Today ascent Poštarski dom ---> Plešivec (Via Kozarnica). Some mud in lower and middle parts, otherwise quite soggy terrain and lots of leaves - at the top they told me they advise against ascents from this side due to possible falls of damaged trees.
