New snow improved walking conditions, stuck nicely to the old ice too. At Lidija's crowded, including a bunch of Croats. I warm my thick socks and gloves on the stove, drink tea, greet Ladota and out asap to the sun, there was plenty today. Cable car and bus on time, to Teran for another tea and already lunchtime. nasmeh

I don't know if this can already be called snow.

I hope this cream will slide a bit lower, but for the valleys it's better without it, so the winter service doesn't suffer again.
Today we had to escape quite high, the fog 'flooded' up to 1300m. Sadly, we escapees were few, at Lidija's four, in the cable car and bus on the return with my colleague we were the only passengers. Practically no snow, the color comes from thick moss that stuck well to the frozen ground, no slipping.

Immaculate fence so the cows don't slip into the fog.

Regina, on my old Grintovci map from '87, the path is marked, but I've never walked it.
But yesterday again on my classic route Calcit - Primož - Mickina Bajta - Jarški Dom - Gradišče - Šimnovec. Some old ice still over Pasje Pečine, above tree line some new snow, at Gradišče 4cm. No wind, sun peeked from behind cloud wall exactly at noon when I was at Gradišče, temp jumped up, but could enjoy it only for half an hour more. smile

Besides Lidija and both 'drivers', saw only three people all morning.

...as well as the Julian Alps and Krvavec.

It has shown the same appearance all winter.

The largest mountain pasture settlement in the country.

I haven't driven it yet, nor will I until they upgrade the protective covers.

Very little snow even on the highest point.

Trail well marked in lower part, higher up you need to search for marks a bit. Trail less traceable. You can see it's not visited.
Large part of trail on forest roads.
Today weather totally different from yesterday. On plateau fog and very strong wind, yet quite some visitors. smile

Today up top less wind than forecast, but that much more fog. New snow (3cm) only above 1300m, where I got the feel of real winter with frost and icy base again. Sadly short-lived, as right after descent from Zeleni Rob I pack away hat, goggles, gloves... Cable car operator again not sticking to schedule and if not veteran sprinter tongue

at 100m, bus would escape under my nose again.

140 meters higher it is now only suitable for January.

Except for the baby carriage, everything is free.

Three seconds earlier I even saw the sun.

This is an investment. In addition to the six-seater lift, there's also a ski conveyor that hasn't transported a single child since opening.

Today there weren't many visitors on the plateau. Reason: cold winter wind. The winter idyll was enhanced by sun, hoarfrost and mists. The usual paths are partially icy so walking on the otherwise frozen snow off the paths is recommended. Daily price hikes are piling up like avalanches and parking also costs two euros more than last year...

Today the ascent was a real pleasure. Path bare, dry, slightly frozen, even the leaves that were quite annoying on some sections are gone, air ideal. At Mickina hut 2cm snow, which was smoothed over Pasje pečine, so I recommend crampons for the inexperienced and kids. Of course there's a safe alternative over Pirčev vrh. Further on to the woods bare again, at the top a few cm of whiteness. Up top foggy, cold, no wind and no people.
