SamoK, thanks for the moral support! I can boast that I'm practically a born Slovenist. I don't remember exactly which grade. But I can proudly say that I went to first grade for seven years and then, as a reward, another year to second grade of lower gymnasium. nasmeh nasmeh

Going to Velika Planina to check it out. Whatever will be will be, and it was. Fog up to Jelšev konfin, then a fairy tale.
No wind, clear, with views, on the return already quite warm.

Todi, I agree. Everything fell into place: early hour, clean air, sunny weather, sharp eye, youth, steady hand and feel for a beautiful and interesting motif. But we must not neglect the nineteenth photo either - icing on the cake: struklji with strawberry, lingonberry and blueberry topping. nasmeh

Yesterday my husband visited Velika Planina. Unfortunately I couldn't join him, but I greatly enjoyed viewing his photos afterwards, as it turned into a very nice day; the snow sparkled in the sun and created a winter fairy tale. Attaching some of his photos. lp

Yesterday was the nicest weather-wise this week and I made use of it. Classic: Lovski dom Vegrad - Jarški dom and enjoying on the sunny bench in front of the hut.
Jarški dom, which long-time tenant Mare handed over to Soklič innkeepers in spring.1

Two weeks ago, on December 14th, when there was a bit more snow, gaiters were the most useful winter gear. In places it sank over the knees. I walked on my knees in a few spots so I wouldn't sink as much.

That snow melted quickly after, but then new snow fell, but much less of it.

Pre-Christmas visit to Velika Planina, five planned strolls, we did three and enjoyed the beauties of nature. We started at Jelšov konfin, turned right towards the junction of Gojška, Mala and Velika Planina. Little snow, but still winter idyll, very windy in places, almost calm elsewhere. We enjoyed pleasant wandering around the plateau, tea at Črnuški dom, due to wind coffee and štruklji at Zeleni rob fit well. They were good, one portion enough for three. Then to Gradišče, views beautiful, walk back to start. Short stop at the church of St. Ahacij at Kališče. Nice closing tour of the year.

Started at Jelšev konfin and via Gojškova pl. to Gradišče. On the way also to the chapel Marija snežne.
On the way back we met at Domžalski dom, Barbara, her daughter Klara, Jana with husband and younger son.
And once more to the chapel.
With Barbara and Klara we went to Jarški dom for drink and štruklji.
Morning nice, later started clouding over. Lots of hikers. Icy in some places.

Is anyone going to Velika Planina today - Calcit -> Zeleni Rob?
Watching webcams since 5:30 am and it seems pretty windy. Wind forecast around 60km/h. Temperature supposed to be -4C.
