Yesterday on Veliki vrh from Matizovec. The original plan wasn't that, but the road closure in Jelendol did its thing. You can only get there if you're there before 7 a.m., you can return after 6 p.m. I intended to go to Košutnikov turn - but turned to the west side instead. So I want to hike the entire ridge, but in parts. Start at Matizovec parking and follow the marked path. All praise to whoever enabled parking and fixed the path signs. Planina Kofce beautiful, livestock still grazing, hut all in flowers, terrace super. During a short stop above the hut I forgot phone and jacket in the middle of the meadow - got both back on return to the hut - big thanks again to the girls who brought the found items to the hut and the hut staff who stored them.
The summit itself was in fog and it stayed that way until my departure. The path is not demanding. Maybe just a remark - where there was previously a secured section with a cable, now only holders where it was attached. The section doesn't seem so demanding to me that the cable was really necessary. Maybe that's why they didn't replace it.
No excessive crowds on the whole path, took štruklji to-go. On return extra joy - boletus. To such an extent that I missed the marked path. Continued down the road, had enough climbs for the day. At the junction where Jelendol and Tržič directions are indicated, turn opposite - right - and follow the forest road. Had enough time, road went down and mostly right, fresh horse and cow tracks in the same direction were visible. Should be fine. Arrived almost at the starting point - at the sawmill back to the marked path.
Nothing according to plan - maybe that's why an even nicer day.

My companion and I also went up yesterday. In the morning there was still a bit more snow, on the ridge the last part almost bare. For the descent already streams on the trail and as the predecessor wrote, short sleeves. On the way also hopped to Kofca gora. Pity the hut is closed on weekdays. Below the hut forgot to turn right. Continued on the road and then on a quite muddy track to the sawmill.
We spent a wonderful day on the first snow.

Yeah, I get you, 400 eur isn't much. So far I have no bad experiences, but it's true that I only go to the neighboring municipality where I also work. Last week I had to go filming in LJ, there were no cops anywhere and no checks (I had all the proofs why I was going to LJ). It probably also depends on who you hire

Those who go to Veliki vrh in these conditions and this thaw... are, mildly put, irresponsible.
There is a huge amount of snow and any moment now the Košuta ridge will start rumbling from avalanches.
Or already is.

I went to pl. Dolžanka by car, didn't try further up. My way up I reached above pl. Kofce. Further from the cross, go left between spruces and my way to the ridge. New snow 10-20cm+, more in drifts of course. On the summit there was little wind. I descended my track.

Past Matizovec to Kofce along the ridge to Kofce Gora and Veliki Vrh. Mixed conditions. Not much new snow but the wind did its thing. Being first in the morning, I sank in quite a bit, but had sun on top and almost no wind.
