VanSims, I really like sniffing some, slobbering on it, sometimes a little growl, even bite, I see nothing bad. If playing with pepper spray too, no doubt a couple around the snout would arrive, justified!

"I know a villager who fears dog and bolts like fox."
Exactly such psychopath owners like those two with unleashed dogs wait for. With that they charge batteries.
"Sign says all, dog areas elsewhere plenty."
Where such signs are most such psychos with unleashed dogs. Obviously paradise there cuz dog attack bigger psych effect on victim, like nowhere safe anymore.
"in Kot hikers don't expect dogs"
That's exactly strategy of such psychos. Where victim least expects, there they strike.

@FLEKSARCA: Careful, women have their sprays too. Called 'anti-rape spray'. Actually under that brand usually ordinary pepper spray.
Maybe wouldn't hurt you to get a bit from one...

I say only such problems some here have with dogs, or better with dog owners, better never leave safe home shelter. Really don't understand where such attitude to dogs from "In Kot hikers don't expect dogs" where do you live?

Yeah, I don't know what that sign in Kot means then, hikers are respectful to nature, they follow the marks, unless someone writes like that as a fan of work against.

@BorisM: the most endangered is the owner!
@Jus: You expect them, just leashed in accordance with TNP rules.
And I've already said here several times that because of a handful of primitive psychopaths I won't stop hiking around. I'll go wherever I want.

I misunderstood a bit quickly, the dog is allowed to be walked on a leash, just not off-leash, before the Kot valley there's also a sign for bears.

As far as I know, a hunter can even shoot a freely roaming dog in the forest. I know such cases have happened. The purpose is to prevent chasing wildlife. And it was about an ordinary forest without any special regime.
P.S.: Bear and other wildlife avoid humans from afar, but a feral unleashed dog does the opposite.
I think we've reached the stage where opinions about dogs are no longer important and it's just about provocations.

a dog that doesn't want to harm anyone, neither to a human, nor to another dog, nor to any animal, there's no need for it to be tied because of anyone. Really no need. You, Matej, keep hammering your own.

A hunter must not shoot a dog, as the law prohibits it. He can catch the dog and take it to a shelter or notify the inspector.

Pardon, since 2004 he really can't shoot it anymore by law. How he's gonna catch it is a bit funny, maybe with a sausage And at the risk of being bitten.

Since 2004 unfortunately a hunter can't shoot a freely running dog anymore. We pity the dog, but not the game it can slaughter. People (judging also by some comments in this thread) haven't for a long time anyway. But watch out dear dog owners on trips abroad. In normal western countries they still have such laws. Specifically I firmly know in Austria and also in Croatia. You get no compensation, probably you'll pay the fine yourself. @dragica: true, but devils don't have it written on their foreheads... "I think we've reached the stage where opinions about dogs are no longer important and it's just about provocations." Of course, such topics are a big bait for provokers who actually may have a completely different opinion on the topic. But for them discussion isn't important but just provoking,... Actually I pity them. It's a substitute for them, addiction, vent,... in their life full of failures and frustrations. Some go to alcohol, drugs,... so self-destruction, others to maltreating their families, psyching people around them (e.g. subordinates at work, children,...),... in short mental destruction of others. The same goes for dog psychopaths. Some of us have discovered a positive way to recharge our batteries in the mountains and nature and we won't let that be taken away.
