The nearest mountain hut is Kaunergrathütte, located 0.8km west-southwest. A little further is Plangeroßalm. 0.8 km east of the saddle there is lake Mainzer See. 1.7 km southwest from the saddle there is glacier Plangeroßferner, 1.9 km northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Unterer Verpeilferner. The saddle is located west-northwest of the valley Pitztal.
