Schneefernerkopf is 2874 meter high peak and is part of the Wetterstein mountains. The peak is located on the border between the country of Austria and the country of Germany. The nearest mountain hut is Münchner Haus, located 1.7km northeast. bivouac Ganghofers Rast is also relatively close. North-northeast from the summit there is glacier Südlicher Schneeferner, 0.6 km northeast from the summit there is also glacier Schneeferner. South of the summit is the valley Gaistal.
