I've had the desire for a long time to do all four peaks in one go. And Saturday, 4.10.2025 was the ideal day for it. I drew the route in Locus Map, didn't even know what to expect or if the paths are passable at all. One thing is the drawn line on the map, another is the condition on the terrain. Well, surprisingly everything was nicely passable, it's true that at least two thirds of the path is macadam. Which wasn't any problem at all. So the paths are passable without trouble. We tackled the paths with two cars, one in Podgozd (starting point for St. Peter) and one in Blatnik pri Črmošnjicah (marked parking on the map). In the morning we quickly ascend to Sveti Peter, descent to macadam or forest path and towards Pogorelec (Sedlata Gorica - take-off site). The path to Sveti Peter is fully marked, easy and runs entirely through the forest. Continuation from St. Peter to Pogorelec is practically unmarked anywhere. Some signs are at the Primož forest hut but none for Pogorelec. Only the last 10 minutes before the summit we hit a sign directing to the take-off site. Here the first pause for a sandwich and descent over the highest peak located in the forest a bit above the take-off site. Again we reach the Primož forest hut, here signs direct towards Kočevski Rog or Kočevje. The macadam forest path leading to Veliki Rog is largely unmarked, I relied on the drawn path on the phone. Locus Map works offline too, which is worth its weight in gold for these areas. Most of the time there is no signal on the phone. After quite some time walking we finally arrive at Roška pešpot, where there are marks again (green bear paw on white background) all the way to the top of Veliki Rog, where there is no tower anymore. Pause for a sandwich and continuation. To Žaga we follow green bear paws (marks Roška pešpot or better known as Path along the Bear Tracks). At Žaga we don't continue in the direction of Roška pešpot into the primeval forest (I think the new Path along the Bear Tracks completely bypasses the primeval forest, not sure) but branch off on the road left and after about 10 meters right into the forest. Here even a sign for Mirna gora awaits us. Almost the only one to Mirna gora, to which quite some walking awaits us. Over macadam and past Ponikev - the nicest part of the path, we arrive in the evening hours to the home on Mirna gora. Just a jump to the highest point and in the dark return to the car in Blatnik pri Črmošnjicah. We follow the marked path Mirna gora - Brezovica (much nicer than the one to Vrčice, since to Vrčice there is quite a bit of macadam). At one place we branch right to Blatnik where we have the car. We were quite glad for it. To Blatnikov hram at Dvor for excellent pizza, then to the other car and home. Nice and long tour through almost home corners.

In the end it added up to 50 km and over 2000 elevation gain.

Hello, I visited some peaks with a mini Aljaž tower on top. Among them Svinjak, Ojstrica, Vrh nad Peski, Veliki vrh etc.

I'm interested if there is some list of peaks where a mini Aljaž tower is located?

Thanks.

Hiked on Saturday. The path is of course not circular, it runs from Škofije to Sečovlje, so some logistics was needed. Reservation of an apartment in Parecag - almost at the end of the path. On Saturday early in the morning hunting for buses to the starting point. That took the most time in planning. 5:31 from the station in Parecag the bus goes to Lucija TPC stop. There is the first transfer. 5:48 on the bus to Koper Banka. There the second transfer. 6:31 we catch the bus to Moretini arriving 6:44. A bit further from the stop and right up the hill to join the E12 path. Otherwise the official start is in Škofije at the border but no big deal. It's a short distance. Other information about the path's course we got from the website, also the GPX file.

We ended the path in Parecag where we had the apartment and didn't walk to the end to the Croatian border but that's an insignificant part of the path. In the end almost 44 km and 450 elevation meters. For the path we needed good 10 hours including breaks. Nice and scenic path. More in the pictures. Only at the end, where the path goes along the salt pans and St. Jernej canal I have no picture. But there along the canal there is a pleasant path, it runs on a wooden platform above the canal, similar to the salt meadow Ankaran.

The advice wasn't that bad after all.

Of course AO is in the domain of PD, if we're complicating things.

Nearby, in Trebnje there is the Baragova hiking trail. Also nice. 18 km - circular.

In Polhograjcih, only once quickly to Grmada before the storm. Today, however, a much larger loop. For the starting point, we chose the parking lot in front of Mercator in Polhov Gradec. The first goal was Grmada via Mala Grmada. From there we headed towards sv. Katarina and sv. Jakob. The next goal was Dom na Govejku and a short break before continuing to the nearby Osolnik. From there still to Tošč and, since I didn't find another connection, descent to the castle park in Polhov Gradec and ascent also to Polhograjska gora aka sv. Lovrenc. We had everything, from sun, wind, light sleet and rain. The path took us about 10 hours. It added up to nearly 36 km and 2400 elevation gain.

Well, we tackled it on Sunday. Start from Savica at 4:30. We put on crampons at switchback 43. Quick continuation to the hut under Bogatin and towards the saddle. Before the saddle we branch left, walk under Bogatin and, when we're right under the summit of Mahavšček, we head almost directly to the top. Real suffering due to snow sinking. A bit to the right under the summit we reach the ridge where the snow is hard. At 9:00 we're at the top. We descend along the ridge further and when it ends we turn left and walk under Mahavšček, again towards the saddle and before the saddle right, back the same way. Rest in the hut under Bogatin and return to the car at 13:30. Nice tour and new two-thousander.

On Saturday from Cerkno to Bevkov vrh and further to Sivka and return to Cerkno. The path went from Cerkno towards Veliki vrh, we didn't go to the top but under it, past the sanctuary towards Cerkljanski vrh, further to the stamp for Bevkov vrh, Bevšek, Sivka. Return more or less the same path. It added up to almost 34 km and 1760 meters of elevation. Wonderful path and super day. At the end, dinner at Pr Padkejc - all praise.

Thank God I didn't go.

Has anyone hiked towards the saddle these days? Would it be possible to go on Saturday? Thanks.
DVas16. 02. 2026 11:25:12
bagi thanks for the described route. We were yesterday, super everything. We cut directly from the monument at Cerje down, there's a path to the lower macadam. Nothing else to add.

Also from St. Joseph's church in Tržič to Kriška gora we do 902m elevation and 3.46 km. Nice training.

Something similar is under Storžič, if that's it?
