Hello! Notice for PD Jesenice leadership. On Bavski Grintavec the stamp is pulled out for over a year and also unusable...as instead of nice print only a smudge appears. Summit book three years old already totally full and waiting for new one!!! Time to fix this a bit.....Lp

Yes, and such "disgraces" are quite a few in our hills

Has anyone recently walked Planina Bukovec? Possible to get water there? Turbo 2009 writes water "is"; I wonder if it still holds.

On 8.8.2012 there was little water, cca half a liter per min. For me first the view, then stamp (any), summit book is or isn't.

Today in Soča valley cloudy and start didn't promise much. Later fog joined among bushes and persisted high on screes into rocks. Towards summit sun shone and we enjoyed every minute. Stamp and full summit book still not replaced. Then carefully down all that scree, back to foggy valley.

I'm wondering which path you took up to BG and if there's any snow from Zadnja Trenta? Lp

We went from the village of Soča. But at the summit, while talking to hikers who came over the Kanja saddle, we learned there's even some snow on the path. I assume it doesn't represent a big obstacle, but someone who went up that side recently would know best.

I waited a long time for this day to happen; this year I no longer believed it would. With my husband, we conquered Bavški Grintovec yesterday in all its beauty and solitude in the true sense of the word. At the top only one gentleman. The sun literally scorched all day, but it was unforgettable.

But the path from Soča is the least attractive, so if this was unforgettable, what would you have experienced on other "variants". Try it. Otherwise sometimes even such useless paths can be nice, e.g. because of company or maybe nice weather.......etc

Which is more suitable for descent, via Kanja or direct?

If you're not up for descending chimneys and pegs, "direct" is more suitable, but the scree you descend to the junction where it meets the one from "Kanja" is mildly nasty; and drags like .... guts!

The most beautiful descent is along the ridge over Vrh Brda, then down to the former Planina Bukovec and to Bavšica .
