I would ask zvončnica if that secured wire rope is usable and also if the looseness of the wires means the condition is like on Italian via ferratas?

I was up there today and can say that the path is excellently marked. At the start of the climbing path one wire is a bit loose, otherwise they are nicely tensioned. The upper part is extremely crumbly!

@janez.novak, I agree with the written reply by @godovčan, so extra caution is not out of place. lpnasmeh

Hello!
Please provide info on passability of the path from Zadnja Trenta (direct path, any snowfields and winter gear needed?). Hello.

@zvončnica, I have one question. Last year my colleague and I went up from Soča and down to Zadnja Trenta. A bit below the summit there's a ledge where a gentleman helped me down because it was very awkward (lots of loose stones on it, and from the side eek). As far as I remember it's somewhere between your pictures 23 and 24. Have they maybe fixed anything or has the condition changed at least? I plan to go up again this year.
Thank you very much for the reply. nasmeh

Today to Bavski Grintavec from Soča village. This was a very long tour - below it says five hours. It scares you a bit. Little space for cars around here. Soon we reach the pasture or hamlet long abandoned. Grass mostly unmown. Then long path to Planina nad Sočo - below two and a half hours. Here hunter's hut where you can sit - they even have WC. Here about halfway. To screes below the mountain good hour. Then steep ascent on nasty scree, last part climbing on rocks. View from top magnificent.
Here it starts.1
Soon I reach some kind of abandoned hamlet.2
Several buildings are in ruins.3
I walk a good two hours to reach the Nad Soča pasture.4
There is a hunting hut here.5
I am coming higher and higher.6
Butterflies are everywhere.7
The white rocks come into view.8
I'm heading up there.9
The path goes up there.10
On the right, this work of nature catches my eye.11
A little further and the summit is there.12
Summit of Bavški Grintavec. Unfortunately, as on several tours this year, the logbook for entries is torn and scribbled, and even the stamp is unusable. Who takes care of this summit?13
Today unique views far around over the peaks - Triglav.14
Who would know all these peaks.15
16
Now three-petaled ture - perhaps just ordinary gentian.17
South Alpine edelweiss.18
Murka will never disappoint us - it always radiates that deep dark color.19

Yesterday my friend and I set off from PUS in Bavšica via planina Bukovec and sedlo Kanja to B. Grintavec. We descended via western ridge over Vrh Brda and planina Bukovec back to Bavšica. Nice tour and quite shady in these hot days.

On 16.8. we ascended this wonderful mountain from Zadnja Trenta. Nice because you have the goal in sight all the time, plus views open up nicer with height. Path doesn't drag, but when we reach climbing part, full concentration needed. Climbing section varied, properly secured, but some free climbing too. Narrow ridge especially interesting. Experience from similar paths helps. Surely among most demanding in Slovenia. From top one of best views in Slovenian Alps, everything at hand. No helmet no go. When we were already down on scree, lots of stones came down slope, flying over scree, best to hide behind big rock as helmet wouldn't help. Really wonderful mountain in beautiful setting that doesn't leave you indifferent.

I was up there yesterday. Judging by descriptions it's quite a popular hill. Siser, the adjacent peak, was my main goal, so BG today was just of passing nature. Don't know who put the nice sign at parking in Zadnja Trenta, but 6.5 hours is surely exaggerated time. Path without anomalies as predecessors wrote, many would sign in the book if there was somewhere.

Does anyone have info about snow on the path from Soča on the southern side?
like
Maemi21. 07. 2014 10:15:16
On the path from Trenta there are two larger easy snowfields when crossing scree under BG. Cables at entry to climbing part (over Kanja) quite loose, caution needed. Then to entry of most crumbly part no big issues, nice free climbing. Problems only in summit part where small rockfall happened and needs very careful bypass (everything crumbles and slides like conveyor belt). Just below summit small steep snowfield (think path goes right under it) better to bypass left side. Right passage (over snowfield) scared the hell out of me.
At top decision for descent south side and so did larger group of hikers too.
South side no big issues, crossing snowfield on easy scree part more pleasure than obstacle mežikanje
Winter gear only needed on direct path from Trenta, slip risk.

Weather forecast for tomorrow 23.7.2014, lightning and thunder. Stay home, you can't go to the mountains with such questions.
"Reliable" weather forecast isn't asked on forums but checked on official sites e.g. ARSO or at least on websites that summarize or publish weather forecasts from official meteo institutions, agencies etc.
