If I can answer you, I hiked up this path yesterday. This is exactly the path you marked. I think it's still better to hike this path upwards, because on certain parts in the brushwood it completely disappears and if you don't know the exact direction you can bushwhack quite a bit downwards through the brush. Below at the hut you don't go up the marked path to the left, but continue straight along the streambed to the headwall where a waterfall or small waterfall (yesterday) awaits you. Step a bit further and to the left follow the path which is quite crumbly and leads you above the waterfall (difficult). Then follow the poorly visible path through the brush, cross the brook and reach a small valley basin. At the end of it you start traversing slightly to the right—here the path, what there is of it, starts disappearing. From here on, a bit by nose, a bit on grass through the easiest passages through the brush. If you've sorted all the tangles right you'll soon see the path which becomes more visible and joins the connecting path Kanja-Špiček exactly at the spot you marked on the first pic. If I forgot something let Igor add it. LP B

Thanks for the explanation - it'll hold , because two years ago when we were coming back from BG we didn't dare take that path , because we didn't know what awaited us down there , how demanding the descent over those cliffs is ?? Next time I'll go up this path and descend via the marked trail to Planina Zapotok. And what's that hut on the planina like - can you still sleep in it like before ? LP

Igor, yeah, blueberries were already there, not very thick but full, so you could sit down and pick around you... Right near the junction that's currently being discussed, I met a mountaineer coming from B. Grintavec who was heading towards Špička,... I advised him against it..., later we met at the parking lot,... I think he just missed at Konjski preval and despite searching didn't find the path, so he wanted to go down on his own and got into very dangerous wet slopes..., he returned the same way back to the mentioned junction and went back to the valley via Planina Zapotok. Just because of this case (experienced mountaineer) I wrote that I advise this path to those unfamiliar with it and it's not a walk along the contour line as it looks on the map... lp, Silvester

On 8.9 I set off for Bavski Grintavec from Zadnja Trenta. The path itself is dynamic and interesting, also the weather promised to be nice until I reached the saddle Kanja, where thick fog suddenly crept in to the top of Grintavec.

Hey Baby bravo. I see you're really enjoying the solitude. Last time we met at Hanzova on Prisojnik where we shared transport and of course good company and it was really a great day. I was last year on Grintovec from Soča then I was lucky with transport so I continued towards Zadnja Trenta. The path from the top is really crumbly so caution is important. Maybe we'll meet again. @Leny, you've really excited me with your pics and this will be one of the next 2000ers I'll conquer (it's also one of the few marked ones I still miss).

@primoza: All nice and right, but with this of yours: ("The seven-year-old rated the 'very difficult path' tour as 'hard', the ten-year-old as 'easy'.)..this nonstop writing is becoming somewhat abnormal... Everyone can think what they want, but to me this seems excessive, because I don't know what you want to say with it? Let the kids experience the tour themselves, with their feelings, they don't need your "showing off" via the forum in my opinion...

Lidija Jesih: stunning photos that show the difficulty of the ascent primoza: I don't know what you feed your kids with (except adrenaline), I'm curious? You are really incredible!

How demanding is the actual approach to the summit from the Bavščica direction via Brdo? Is it just scrambling along the ridge or is the difficulty greater than II somewhere perhaps?

Yesterday on Bavarian Grintavec from Soča. The path is very nice and yesterday just the right day for it. Practically no snow, except individual patches. Similar conditions on the north side too.

Today on Bavarian Grintavec from Soča and over the south ridge. Really, the latter is a true pathless delight! Descent from the summit following the markers. Those few small snow patches don't deserve mention. Best regards.

Volk, I see you had a good time. Congratulations! I'm at home drinking tea and reliving memories. 14 days ago I was in those parts. Namely on Plešivec, Trentski Pelc and Srebrnjak. I didn't think these hills are so in the heart of the Julian Alps. The view is fantastic in all directions. Do you have any interesting photos? Best regards

Dprapr, last weekend I was idling. I hope it passes quickly. Trentski Pelc and Srebrnjak? Don't make me blush. Over Ribezni or from Utra? Well, both are a fairy tale.
