As the previous says from the south side - Sahara, water, water ... similar happened to us on 9. 7., although the start was quite early from Soča village, but sun and dry wind do their job and so you're thirsty and sunburnt . (around 4 liters of water per person in such weather, that's my opinion).
The path is long, towards the summit a bit of scrambling and one short steep scree slope.
And we were surprised, when already returning towards the hunting hut, others towards the summit.

Yes, jprim, we were also surprised. Super smart parents to drag 2 kids up at such an hour. We met them above Lemovje. And woman in cowboy boots - disaster. I immediately told my friend that at such an hour I wouldn't go up even if a palette of beer was waiting. Nice greeting

There were three kids, maybe you missed one.
And maybe you forgot some t-shirt somewhere, we saw two along the path, ... probably someone put it out to dry.

What is much for whom, hard to say ... no problem over that wall, for me it was tough on that really steep scree on the descent.

On Saturday up via Zapotok and Kanski pass. Nice climbing. Views few and even then camera in backpack. Down to Soča, knees suffered a bit. And on road not more than 50m when picked me up and drove to car at Flori "Ljubljančan". We laughed nicely about it, shame no time for drink. Then to Mangart saddle slept in car and bag like old times.

Well today I finally after one year of postponing dates conquered Bavški Grintavec, and I must say that this peak is REALLY WONDERFUL. Really wonderful. I went at 8.15 from Zadnja Trenta to the summit which I conquered at 12.15, due to strong leg cramps that appeared to me in the last 10 min of ascent, to avoid repeated climbing, I descended to Soča village where I just caught the bus to Vršič at 15.55 and then from the main road on foot to Zadnja Trenta. About current conditions: we cross one snowfield without problems, path sparsely marked but if you follow the path no problems, today actually 3 hikers on the summit complained that they got lost already in the valley and lost 1 hour. And maybe this too, on the path there are a few pegs and slings so you have to grab the rock quite a bit.

And one more thing, the road from the hut at the source of Soča to the parking lot in Zapodno is quite beaten up so take it nice and slow.

It's hot in the mountains too, but quite different from the valley. Today from Zadnja Trenta to Planina Zapotok, then along the stream to the right under the waterfall and above the waterfall on a quite overgrown and poorly visible path to the junction with the marked path Špiček-Kanjski preval. On the demanding path to the summit, descent on the easier path and return on the marked one back to the alpine pasture. Followed by cooling off at nice pools and meadows with views of today's champion. Here you could survive a hot day. After thorough refreshment then to the valley heat. Nice day. Little visitors.

In the above post the path Zavetišče pod Špičko - Kanjski preval is mentioned. 14 days ago I walked this path on the ascent to Bavški Grintavec. The path is quite visible and marked near Špička (from the junction off the "autobahn") and Kanja, in the middle section on the slopes under Pelci however very overgrown, marks covered with grass, in short untraceable, so I don't recommend it to those unfamiliar, it's not a walk along the contour..., otherwise a wonderful crossing or path that doesn't exist...

@SilvesterO, were there any blueberries in that part where the path gets lost, years ago I ate there the sweetest and thickest blueberries I remember, it's true it was early September, but this year everything is earlier anyway. Otherwise that path actually goes through Sredenca the Trenta way, especially in autumn it's beautiful there and I recommend it. But you have to be careful under Konjski preval, where it usually slips quite a bit.

Who takes care that there is a summit logbox with book and stamp at the top? Let those who care for it replace the worn-out stamp on Bavški Grintavec! Regards

I agree, the stamp could be replaced if it's worn and not fixed, whoever can do it.
I need it for the traverse!!!
How about the stamp on Visoki Kanin, have they installed a new one??? Apparently it was stolen.
Was anyone at the summit? Maybe someone knows!!!
