On Monday afternoon we set off from Soča village to the hunting hut on Planina nad Sočo, where we overnighted and then on Tuesday to the summit, first time for most of us. Descent by the ascent path to refreshment in Soča. Entire path normally passable, logbook and stamp at the top.

Last week from Soča village towards Bavški Grintavec. Followed marked path to about 1800m where we turned right onto southern ridge. Path then led over Kol, Male Muzce, Velike Muzce, Škodela and to Bavški Grintavec summit. Little ridge interesting, not too hard (places grade I). Return via Mali Grintavec then Vrh Brda. From there over grass first bit left then straight to pasture where we rejoined marked path just before. Path to valley still long, cooled off in cold Soča at end.velik nasmeh

Over Kanski preval to Bavški Grintavec I've gone several times. From Soča yesterday first time. Markings renewed. Path nicely followable though high grass in places. No snakes in sight at all. Despite the heat. Didn't meet anyone the whole way. Where you start in Soča sign says 5 hrs. But need another half hour more. Path steep all the way. About 1800m ascent. Start at 500m a.s.l. Fitness quite demanding tour but interestingly routed. Panoramic the whole way. Like yesterday's nice day with interesting clouds and views.

Hi, on Saturday I'm planning to go to Bavski Grintavec, interested in the condition of the paths from Zadnja Trenta? As far as I know, the path over Kanski preval was closed last year. Thanks for the info in advance. Best regards and safe steps in the mountains.

As far as I know, the path is still closed. BG is reachable via paths from Soča or Bavšica along the ridge.
