On a sunny Saturday I decided to visit Begunjščica. I was quite surprised when above Roblek hut I plunged into deep snow, after the last snowfall I had broken the trail. On the contrary, from the north side there was quite some visitors, mostly on skis. Later I learned that one of them got injured on descent.
Sorry, some photos are slightly tilted to the right. After thinking I realized my painful right elbow is to blame.

On Sunday, the 4th they were super, nothing sinks through, there was still enough snow to ski to the parking lot (probably not enough at the bottom now), otherwise pleasant descent from the gully down, higher up it's tough.

Yesterday afternoon, around 2 pm I set off from the inn in Draga, past Roblek to Veliki vrh. Nice weather, actually no snow up to Roblek, only the last few hundred meters icy. From Roblek onwards some snow that sinks in up to the knees in places (especially if you start so late). Further along the ridge some snow patches (most can be avoided), some path sections already completely dry. Back the same way and since the Roblek hut is open it was worth using it....

With a colleague and a colleague we decided to head to Karavanke, to Roblek, then on to Veliki Vrh. We started at Tinčkova hut at 7.30 am full of energy and dashed up the steep slope. The path was snowy and untracked in some parts, then a bit icy and steep. Yeah, our knees took a beating. At the hut on Roblek we stopped and refueled a bit. The song about Roblek is nice already , the views no less.
We continued to Veliki Vrh, here too the path is mostly steep, snow-free, easy, views around divine, nice view of our Julijci, on the other side Stol was showing off in all its beauty.
At the top we took time to soak in the immense beauty. We wanted to return via the circular path below Veliki Vrh past the hut at Zelenica, but too much snow on some parts didn't allow the descent. So we returned the same way we came, but didn't give up the wish to go to the hut at Zelenica. So above Tinčkova hut we headed up again and popped over to the hut at Zelenica.
Nice day spent in beautiful places 
At 17.00 we finished our wandering , went to Valvasor hut where we overnighted, cheers

On the last photo it's not the Hut at Zelenica, but the Hut at Završnica spring. To the hut at Zelenica you need to continue the path another approx 10-15 min. Cheers

I went yesterday from Draga to Prevala, via Kalvarija (which by the way is no longer such a calvary at all ) to Begunjska vrtača, from there to Veliki vrh, then via Roblek back to Draga. Quite windy on the summit, winter gear no longer needed on this path.

+ someone lost Hyundai car keys on path between Roblekov dom and summit. Key has red fob with light. If owner sees this, contact me please, can send them.

Today 30.3. my friend and I went to Begunjščica from Završnica via "Smokuški mev". At about 1,500 m a.s.l. a rock the size of a "šajtrgo" rushed down the gully towards us over the jump. Luckily we dodged it, it was quite "close". If we'd been 50m higher then, it'd be crisis. Gotta watch the terrain...
