Today I planned to go only to Roblek. Around midday I drive to Draga. Just as I turn from the road onto the forest path, I meet a flock of sheep returning to the valley after the grazing season.
The closer I got to Roblek, the thicker the fog. Right below the hut I meet a couple of hikers already returning. One of them was also on Begunjščica and says there's sun up there. Well that's good, now I have to go to Begunjščica for the sun rays nasmeh
Around the hut it was cold and foggy, so I decide to continue straight to the summit. After about 15 minutes I step into the sun, and it warms me nicely all the way to the top mežikanje Quite a few of us gathered at the top of Begunjščica. A little below the edge in the shelter it was nice to sit in the warm sun.
I return along the other side of the ridge towards Kalvarija. On the way I also step onto Begunjska Vrtača and then descend steeply over Kalvarija to Preval. I continue through "Zavukno" back to Draga.
In the morning I wasn't in the mood to walk much, but because of seeking the sun I ended up doing a nice circular tour nasmeh
all were rushing after the guide, who was inviting them with loud calling to follow him1

Begunjščica was a good choice today. I started at Ljubelj and climbed via Zelenica to the ridge and along it to the summit. The path is muddy, above Zelenica a bit frozen, over Kalvarija towards Preval quite slippery. Caution is needed. Views excellent, although some high peaks were partially in fog. On Bornova pot there is quite a lot of water in the tunnels, so a headlamp is necessary.

Hello!
On Thursday, 17.10., I'd like to go to Begunjščica, but I'm a bit worried about the weather. Snow is forecast up to 1800m for tomorrow. Does that mean there might be a few cm of snow on the summit? Where can I check the forecast more accurately?
Thanks!

In wonderful weather I did a circular tour Draga - Preval - Velik vrh via Kalvarija - Roblek - Poljška planina - Draga. Last 200-300 m winter conditions, but no winter gear needed.

Begunjščica was heavily frequented from the north today, central gully is nicely passable and sufficiently filled for hikers without rocky jumps, steepest part nice hard snow; Y still has some bare jumps, Šentantski snowfield quite windblown at top, lower plenty of snow from hard to very crusty sinking, so ascent can be very strenuous, for skiers fairly solid.

Keber - good report. If anyone went via Y, do you have to climb only that lower jump or is there another jump higher up? Thanks.

According to one testimony it should be more or less filled to the ridge, but I can't confirm that, otherwise there's quite little snow, somewhere up to half a meter, so some parts might still be bare.

You need to make an effort on every ascent and descent, otherwise you'd stay at the start. About the difficulty of Y and central, Y on Vrtača – that's something each knows themselves, how capable and experienced. Yesterday about 5-6 of us went via Y, Palec seemed harder to me, first ridge, hard snow, scratching on rocks, on return via "summer" ledges on hard snow. Bojan yes we met.

Today I was in Y gor and central dol. I met only one on descent in central gully. As Juš said, not much effort jezik

blue my route, black central, red Y (left branch easier, right harder... at least that's what I think)1
