Those who were on Grintovec on Tuesday caught the sun by the tail, we yesterday's were too late. Never mind, mountains have their charm in a slightly different way too  . Anyway nothing else was expected, weather forecast promised worsening. Before noon the peak was wrapped in clouds, visibility none, around ears mercilessly howling and carrying snow. Temperature dropped and by return to saddle an hour later there was already about 2cm new snow. Everything was white also where paths via Taška (up it was bare) and old path split. Since wet snow whitened wooden steps didn't seem safe to me, we chose longer path.
That was yesterday, today maybe already quite different  .

Almost forgot  ... could someone be so kind to get rid of a pen on the way to Grintovec at Cojzova hut? Book is there, but nothing to write with.

Today we were up with mates from the lower cable car station to Kokrsko sedlo (road drivable). Conditions for ascent OK, crampons recommended below Kokrsko sedlo, mandatory from the saddle to the top. Trodden, no gaiters needed. Today beautiful sunny morning, from saddle up all fog  Otherwise almost windless. On the top sunny but no nice views due to fog unfortunately.. We'll come again

Just got home from Grintovec. With Matej we started at 5am from Kranj, road to Suhadolnik drivable, further on forest road also possible almost to the signs  . At Kokrsko sedlo sunrise, warmed up a bit in winter room then to Grintovec. We chose path via Jame and gully almost to top. Thank God no need to go over the roof . Achieved goal despite strong wind pushing us in Jame and later in gully Conditions OK!

Through the caves it's quite a serious gully with a slope up to 60°. There's no easier one than via Streha!

I was on Grintovec yesterday, the weather was for "little angels". Yes, my opinion too, the easiest ascent is via Streha. The path was icy in some sections, the snow hasn't reformed much and there was a frozen crust in large areas. Gear: crampons, ice axe. But it was worth it, it was super.
For the descent I got a nice companion - soulmate - Špela (thanks Špela, it was nice chatting and walking with you).
I think the path is now ice-free, as there have been thaws. Safe and pleasant steps, Minca

Not death-defying... at some places extra caution is needed .. was up yesterday. Crampons mandatory

Yes Minca23, totally agree with you - really was also today for little angels, everything "clicked" - weather, views from the top, great walking on Streha, and ju3 free for descent too!
