In the morning we started at 7.45 from Žagana peč. Weather sunny, without a cloud, as forecasted. The path to Kokrško sedlo was dry. Grintavec summit was still glistening in the sunshine. Snow patches start pretty soon after Kokrško sedlo, but they are not problematic. Soon clouds and mists started racing across the sky, getting bigger every minute. We knew that no friendly warm sun would be waiting for us on top anymore, but we persisted to the summit. The last slope before the top is still quite snowy. There were no views from the top, for the return we just put on gaiters, crampons were not needed. We sank just a bit. Luckily no storm surprised us and satisfied we finished today's trip.

Great on Grintovec. Snow from 2300m onwards hard as concrete at least at 7am, so crampons and ice axe are recommended. Nice views to the Austrian side, to ours a bit more moisture in the air. Fast descent with parachute and at 8.20 already at Jurj in Kamnik Bistrica, at 9.30 already at work. I'll prepare the video in the afternoon. (flight along Long Walls).

Those heading out early morning to Grintovec are recommended crampons and ice axe, snow is hard and frozen, but conditions change from hour to hour... attaching some photos from today's trip....

You caught really nice weather, as seen in your photos and caught that last winter blast. Great, especially for first ascent. Grintovec is my all-seasons destination, if I say it touristy. This year I'll repeat the tour starting from Suhadolnik to Grdi graben, past the bivouac under Kočna, to both Kočnas, to Grintovec and then over the roof down to Cojzova to the car. Very nice tour, recommend it for next time, if repeating Grintovec, add Kočnas too. L.P.

How did Skuta look? You had a closer view than I from the valley. On Monday I would go up there but curiosity is bugging me how things stand...

031833385, I checked all the Skuta notes currently on the forum and there's nothing newer, only Viharnik replied that there's probably still lots of snow. Also from the valley - Brda area - you can see that Kočni and Grintovec still have snow that fell newly these days during the rain. So for Skuta, it would be good to wait another week until it melts. Then I also plan to go to Skuta. You can contact me by private message. Any company is good. And we can chat along the way. L.P.
