I waited a long time for the first real snow of this year and it was worth it - today I visited the highest Kamnik peak, who has shyly hidden behind a veil of clouds for the last few days. I started relatively early, so I caught dawn at Kokrško sedlo in the company of a chamois, who accompanied me all the way from entering the scree (now snowfield). Up I was obviously first after the last snowfall (unless wind erased predecessors' tracks), so breaking trail in snow awaited me (sometimes up to knees and more). Day wonderful, only wind on top and -12 degrees somewhat spoiled winter nirvana. Didn't meet anyone until descent below Kokrško sedlo, where one kindred soul was doing conditioning training.
- path to lower cable car station is normally drivable (watch bumps)
- snow is continuous from station upwards
- crampons, helmet and ice axe essential from entering scree (snowfield) above tree line onwards
- "spur" is (now) made. Left variant for up, right for down, if anyone's wondering why two options

Thanks Irina and Otiv, it was really unforgettable. And next week, after Christmas, it will obviously be nice too, at least according to forecasts. For all winter mountain lovers the best part of the season begins. Hope we meet somewhere "up there", Klemen and I will almost certainly climb somewhere.
Grega, definitely given your long absence yesterday you also did a nice and praiseworthy ascent! Oh - the ice axe was new, wasn't it? Was Santa earlier?

yeah those are extremists, if you have full gear you can go on such a tour, otherwise you risk your life, avalanches bang, something else hardly can be, except some military demo, of which I'm up to date nothing last days
