If we went to Grintovec on Saturday could we sleep at Cojzova hut on Kokrsko sedlo (if open) and next day to Skuto and Struco?

I think there would be space for three people in Češka koča???

On Saturday 16.6. we went up Grintovec via Frischauf path. Path very nice, not too demanding (protection where needed), morning in shade nasmeh. We had via ferrata kit but used very little, only on ridge. Helmet essential as path very crumbly. Before wall entry one larger snowfield but very gentle, also some smaller on path no issue. Planned return via Kremžar path but on scree between Grintovec and Jezersko Kočna huge snowfield, crossing without winter gear too dangerous so turned back via Frischauf path.
Really great ascent and phenomenal summit views velik nasmeh

Kathy, do you have maybe a pic how that snowfield looks? Planning from Kočna to Grintovec curious =)

@funnyboy sorry, no pics, but that snowfield I think is on that scree - anyway long and steep.

In the Zillertal Alps the forecast was quite rainy, so I started the tour in the nearby KSA as quickly as possible.
I drive to Suhadolnik on a nice road (many years ago this road was nothing but rocks). In the foggy morning I climb over rugged Taško and quickly reach the junction for Kočna at 1450m. Followed by a short ascent to Cojzova hut. There I have a drink and choose the nicer detour via the bivouac at Legarji over Mlinarsko sedlo to the summit. At the bivouac don't get scared by the logbook entry if someone in broad daylight happily "saws" a floor above in sleepzmedenvelik nasmeh. Worse is that Czechs and Hungarians are again turning our bivouacs into mountain apartmentscool. A group of Czechs first occupied the bivouac, then Hungarians came after them. Of course most had to descend back to Cojzova hut because the bivouac was already stuffed full. Meanwhile the Czechs were diligently hauling buckets of water to the bivouac. When prevented at the hut, the inventive Czechs found water in the toilet bathroom. I think our mountain guard should supervise the bivouacs better, since in Austria they'd evict them in such a case and slap a fine on top.
There I met a group from Rijeka who complained they couldn't sleep at home due to the heat, but at Cojzova it was their first good sleep.
Then I traverse across Velike pode to Mlinarsko sedlo and over the interesting ridge of Mali Grintovec to the summit of the big one. With occasional clearing the views to Jezersko and surrounding peaks were extraordinary, like from an airplane. Sometimes cold gusts blew from the fog. The summit had quite a lot of visitors yesterday, both hikers and fast female runners with small rucksacks and short outfits. In completely clear weather it'd be unbearably hot, which was felt even on top. Lower in the occasional fog it was even much colder.
Nice tour before the weather worsens!nasmeh

viharnik, nice pics as always. For me, only the path to Grintavec via Dolge stene remains; I've done all other approaches already. This week I was looking for access to Spodnje Dolce from Suhega Dola, but couldn't find it. Before turning to Taško you turn left, but I searched in vain for the right path. Every track or forest path led me to the cliffs of Taška and ended under the rocks. I must have walked those tracks for a good hour. It's an old abandoned path that goes past the cliff of Suhadolnik's shepherd. Have you been there? The Dolci with the bivouac under Kočna are very appealing to me and I like going there.

I went to Dolce only via the old hunting path that branches off at the former old Frishauf hut. There is also a lower crossing to Dolce where I haven't been. I think the path goes much more to the left than the one over Taško. The pathless traverse under Cojzova hut at ~1600m over Pasja glava directly to the ridge of Kalške gore is also good but steep, but only in dry conditions (steep grass, only possible passage through scrub to the left, rocky gravel upper slopes).

From Konc - Grintovec (via Kokrsko and Mlinarsko sedlo)
Hello, I would ask for info regarding the mentioned path in terms of difficulty. Last week I was on Storžič through Žrelo and it didn't seem particularly demanding to me. Somehow I don't feel like going over the roof, because it seems to me that then the mountain loses its charm and grandeur, if you understand what I mean. Thanks for the info

I completely agree with you about more mountaineering approaches to the mountain.
The path via Pavla Kemperla bivouac and Mlinarsko sedlo to Grintovec summit is very nice, more varied less hot with just a few harder sections on the ridge of Mali Grintovec, which cause no worries because it's well secured. Walking time is longer by approx 1h30min than the direct southern path. Frišen's description of the same route tour is under KSA.nasmeh

Let me add something: already on the normal path from KB you have around 1650m elevation gain, but if you go via Mlinarsko sedlo you lose some 150m down from Mala vrata, plus a bit on the ridge, totaling more than 1800m climbed, if you don't dare drive right to the cable car then even more. In short, serious and stamina-demanding tour. Technically not very demanding, about Žrelo level, maybe a bit harder only because you have to downclimb some slightly harder spots. But yeah, the last cable is five minutes below the summit and by then - after the whole path done - you're pretty knackered. But still - nice tour, if you're reasonably fit also stamina-wise, I recommend.
And one more: it's nice when Grintovec is full of people panting up from the south, and you come towards them from the north ... Feels good mežikanje

Dear mountaineer friends, what is the situation with driving by car from Kamniška Bistrica to the cable car factory, is driving allowed or not?

Formally no, and there have already been cases of fining parked cars. But still most people go ... (although, the last ascent is in very bad condition, if you go anyway I recommend leaving the car at Žagane peči).
But an even better option is not to go to Kamniška Bistrica at all (the road to Kokrsko sedlo is, honestly, a living horror) and start the ascent at Suhadolnik. The path is much nicer and more or less the same length, and with parking at least as far as I know there are no problems ...
