Jax, is there something similar in the Julian Alps or Karawanks?

Best to order helicopter transport to the desired point, then walk the last 100 meters and that's it From Vršič (1611) you have a nice starting point (Mojstrovka,...) From Mangart Saddle (2050) then Mangart

Unfortunately, I don't have a helicopter .... The thing is, I need to get above 1600m with the car and amateur radio gear (station). Otherwise with backpack I can take little with me, that's the main problem, limitation. Can one drive to Vršič and Mangart saddle?

Funny as on the pic you see yourself too. Namely sitting there leaning on Cojzova hut. Our route towards Kalška gora. On path to Suhadolnik it really poured on us.

As sončnica24 wrote, yesterday we ascended Grintovec. The start was at 06:30 in Konec. At eight we arrived at Zoiss hut on Kokrsko saddle and after a short break continued to Grintovec, arrived at 10:30. After snack, stamping and photos, descent to the start. The weather served us well, due to fog it was not too hot, then when we feared no views from the top, the sun greeted us on the summit, still strong, burned us a bit, reminding us that summer still lasts

Due to the forecast afternoon showers and storms, my friend and I still decided on the ascent to Grintovec. We started from Kamniška Bistrica (from the cargo cable car) towards Cojzova hut. Nice weather accompanied us, but a little below the summit we heard thunder. Upon arrival at Cojzova hut, a surprise when looking towards Suhadolnik - heavy, dark, threatening clouds Not even 5 minutes passed before the clouds with the storm arrived at the saddle. What luck that we were in the hut. We sat by the window waiting for better weather Then people started coming from Grintovec... one by one... soaked and frozen to the bone seeking shelter in the hut. The hut keeper offers them blankets, but these soaked people simply have no place to dry their clothes, as the keeper obviously does not think it necessary to light a fire In the hut I also met Andreja and Gašper and in conversation time flies quickly (Andreja, greetings to both, sorry you two couldn't continue the path, we made it). At 11 o'clock the weather smiled on us and we hurried towards Grintovec On the summit it was quite cold and windy, but satisfaction was great Back down we took the route via Dolce to Suhadolnik. In short, it was a nice day

Mrki, agree, I know Grintavec, can be a bit nasty sometimes, like 23.8. morning. Nicest was once, 30 years ago February, up there well over -20 but beautiful view of whole Slovenia and part of Austria rewarded effort. Safe steps ahead!

and also...in Kamniška Bistrica I saw a sign prohibiting driving further to Žagana peč but look, a car with ZG...(HR) plates of course drives on calmly..NO PROBLEM.

I was also on Grintovcu yesterday. I started near the hut in Kamniška Bistrica. The day was very nice for views over the valley.

On Saturday I met him on the path from Cojzova hut to Grintovec. He went barefoot from Kamniška Bistrica to summit and back, no water, not mentioning trekking poles. Maybe someone knows this hero? Came up, stretched and on first try at Grintovec summit did handstand like in pic and went back to valley.....
