Yesterday (Sunday) we found somewhere in the middle of the path on the ridge of Grintovec a light red shirt and some kind of black strap. We left it in the hut, in the winter room.

Was anyone today at Kokrsko sedlo? What's the path like and how much snow below the summit?

A little before V end I start hiking towards Kokrsko sedlo. When I get out of the beech forest I spot blood, yesterday someone fell. Crampons, ice axe, helmet and go, the path gets more and more demanding, smooth surface but crampons grip well. To the saddle it was really tough; in case of fall can't stop with ice axe. From saddle onwards to summit sometimes a bit postholing, wind slabs forming. Return from saddle very demanding on icy surface. Ice axe went in well, half way to beech forest then went back out. Today only three reached the summit.

Since a nice weekend is approaching, I'd just like to warn you a bit below Kokrsko sedlo and if it's still icy down there plus new snow it can be extremely dangerous, so be careful whoever heads up.

Has anyone (or maybe will someone) set off yesterday, today or tomorrow to Kokrsko sedlo (Grintovec) from Suhadolnik? What are the conditions like with the new fallen snow? We plan to go up on Sunday.

On the roof of Grintovec usually with such wind, previously strong SW now NW, huge menacing slabs form that slide from under feet even with slightest load, below steep drop into Grdi graben, so...  Even in loose snow can't stop there with ice axe.

The goal is to reach Kokrško sedlo, not Grintovec summit. That's why I'm more interested in conditions on the path to there.

Sunday conditions were even worse, or rather untouched. Already the path over Taško requires ice axe use. Further up, crust breaks to knees and requires quite big effort. Timewise more time was spent approaching hut than from hut to summit itself. Most likely conditions now even worse. Good luck

Today was with colleague on Grintovec via Kokrško sedlo. Conditions demanding, mandatory use of crampons and ice axe. Think we were only two on summit today. Didn't rescue anyone. GOOD LUCK

Not much snow, partly frozen, occasional solid wind. Conditions favorable with proper equipment.

Proper equipment is there so it gets used properly. If slightest slip risk exists take ice axe in hand!

I swapped the poles when I also put on crampons, took the ice axe in hand, helmet on head, ate a bit, drank and continued, carefully really carefully, observing surroundings, monitoring weather, beforehand snow conditions, some course, AO, experience, knowledge, all activate, no joke.... flies from clear sky and you're gone.... so much about how nature or mountains show they are the boss, we just snowflake.

Yesterday to Grintavec from Suhadolnik. Very little snow, but quite wind-packed and icy. Weather was foggy and windy. In the upper part, be careful due to slip hazard. Path over Taško 95% dry, only one short snow field to cross where slip would be very awkward. Other demanding path parts dry.

I already read my own post and wondered if it was clearly written So once more. From Suhadolnik over Taško the path is mostly dry, except for some snow patches, one of which is quite nasty snow crossing, but footprints are carved for crossing. Snow starts in the valley towards Cojzova koča (branch to Kočni). I went just below the hut ascent to the left on the winter variant and did not go to the hut. From here fully winter conditions although little snow. Mostly wind-packed, especially the roof is very wind-packed and icy, where it is dangerous to slip. Left at 7 from Suhadolnik, at 12 when returning snow below ca. 2000m already wet.
Hope it is clearer and not misleading.
