Grintovec

And really it wasn't there anymore. But the weather was ideal and a magnificent view from the top.
With my colleague we started in Kamniška Bistrica and headed towards Kokrsko sedlo. From there onwards to the summit. The path from Kokrsko sedlo to the summit was quite demanding fitness-wise for me. All the effort was rewarded at the top due to the wonderful panorama.
I must also praise the hut keeper at the Kokrsko sedlo hut for her friendliness and helpfulness, as well as the varied choice of tasty dishes.
In the end I would like to thank the gentleman once again who offered us a ride to the parking lot in Kamniška Bistrica and thus made our return to the starting point easier.
Below are some pictures showing the magnificent view from the top.

In the afternoon, between two and three o'clock, low clouds appeared, which probably slightly spoiled the experience for many visitors.9

On Grintovec over the weekend, bivouac over Mlinarsko sedlo. As redbull wrote, no snow. Don't count those 2 cm on the north side a few meters below the summit.

If it matters to anyone, I'm letting you know that yesterday (13.10.) they closed both huts on the saddles near Kamniška Bistrica. nasmeh

Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe were today the right choice for us Primorci. From morning dew we got to a nice day with lots of wind, but we're used to that. Path from Suhadolnik dry and covered with leaves, higher up larches slowly losing golden coat in wind gusts. At Cojzova koča sun shines on us and so to the top and back down too, although before 14h clouds started prevailing, mainly from Kamniška Bistrica. Path without issues, quite a few visitors, no snow even for a sample.

I thought the snow was completely gone, because I was just yesterday observing both highest peaks of KS Alps from Gorenjska AC and no snow was visible. Anyway, congrats for a well-spent day. nasmeh

Not only is there no more snow, the grass is completely dry too. Really a day to cheer. At least 50 people were on the summit today. But tomorrow this joy will unfortunately end.

On Sunday we carried out the fifth traditional hike to Grintovec in memory of the deceased mountaineer Tomaž Humar. This time too we had luck with the weather. Wind forecasts matched the predicted altitude values. There were no major peculiarities on the path, patches of wind-blown snow here and there, which were still frozen in the morning, but we didn't use crampons to proceed. We put them on only at the top for safe paraglider takeoff. But it was one of the hardest takeoffs from the top due to unfavorable wind direction. Thanks to the Markuš brothers (photographers) who helped us with the first takeoff.nasmeh
The first time it was so nice that when we landed, we headed back to the top again and flew once more from Grintovec top.

No new snowfalls are forecasted for now, so by Thursday the avalanche danger will drop to the second level. The bigger problem will be deep sinking snow, and you'll probably end the ascent in the winter room at Kokrško sedlo.
Good luck.

On Friday I'm most likely going to those parts, who says poles are recommended, otherwise surely someone during the week, since they've reached Cojz's, but such people are not on this forum

hi first educate yourself in some course and actually try the conditions on the terrain yourself with practical snow profile cutting and other parts of avalanche science... What helps you sticking links and warnings if you yourself don't know what it's about. You lecture others without any basics. No hard feelings.
