Yesterday around 10:30 during the descent from Brana I watched you how you spent quite a lot of time at the saddle taking pictures. Almost certainly it was you. If I'm wrong, say so.

otiv, as always nice! I see that you switched to another category, since the flowers remained only in tiny minority. Did you drive to Jermanca? Asking because of the road, if it's OK. zmedenmežikanje

@tinky, of course I was at KS, dressed in dark blue windbreaker and there was also someone in red windbreaker observing the surroundings, now you judge. nasmeh

@zlatica, I didn't forget the flowers, just didn't manage.
I started right from below in Kamniška Bistrica, so I don't know the road condition.

Zlatica - the road to Jermanca is in quite solid condition, so you can drive up with any car. nasmeh

More than the car, the driver's ability comes to the fore velik nasmeh

Sadly, some don't know how to drive such roads.

Thanks subaru for the info, your default name already says you're a good driver, velik nasmeh. Of course I agree with you too, tol, since mountain roads aren't child's play. nasmeh

@tol: if those countless bumps on the right and left are meant, they are the result of drivers in newer cars forgetting to turn off the wheel slip prevention system. As long as that system didn't exist, the gravel tracks were good to drive on, without banging the shock absorbers.

Those who can't handle such roads should park lower, so they don't dig up piles of gravel after every bend. Even the increasingly frequent downpours don't help, which wash out deep ditches lengthwise and crosswise.
We maintain this 1x a year and depending on how much funding there is for road maintenance (lately not even for everything necessary), it might change to 0x a year.

Grega z brega, "Those who can't handle such roads should park lower." Who is that? I am the best driver, practically a genius. Everyone will claim that when speaking for themselves. All others are incompetents, primitives, donkeys, idiots etc. behind the wheel. That's the reality of our driving culture. Human personality often changes when turning from pedestrian to driver.

This doesn't apply only to Slovenes nor only to drivers. Our entire perception of the world is soaked with such inconsistencies. Just think of statements like - folk is messed up, people are jerks etc. For unknown reasons we all exclude ourselves.
As for drivers, the situation is much simpler - drivers are simply a cross-section of society. And just like in society, we have in cars from the best to barely capable. And if a road is so problematic or needs such frequent maintenance, the solution isn't moralizing and saying it's a road only for the elite, but, ahem, a few centimeters of concrete on key sections.

lino yeah it's like that, we're all virtuosos behind the wheel nasmeh
Of course no one will exclude themselves, what they leave behind for others doesn't matter because they won't come back. It's not noticeable only on those few bends where, as jax says, a few cubic meters of concrete could be installed, which would be a cheap solution and last a few years.
But since for some years now the experts don't decide how, where, when and why to maintain roads and funds are allocated accordingly, the situation is as it is.
P.S. has anyone been to Konec in the last days, what's the road like there so I know where to park on Saturday nasmeh

The simplest solution would be a closure and toll collection, which would then be used for road maintenance.

So much talk about this road to Konec. For years the road has been the same, so I don't know what interests you. The road is gravel, somewhat wavy in places as it has been for many years. If you're interested whether it's already snowy, you can check on the Highest Peaks (it won't be there anymore in a few days e.g. Grintovec)

good luck
