hi,
does anyone have data what it's like on snežnik today or might be tomorrow morning? because planning up tomorrow morning but wouldn't want to hike in rain.

Hi!
I also planned to go tomorrow to Snežnik and wondered the same. For info I called mountain hut at Sviščaki and nice guy told me it's raining hard there last 24hrs, so not really friendly weather for Snežnik visit. Hut at Snežnik closed too, as he said.
I'll probably stay dry tomorrow

aha, thanks a lot. I thought of calling too but remembered too late. Most likely I'll stay home tomorrow too, maybe go to Golake. Snežnik if I get lucky Sunday or Monday.

First the snow melted - yes, while there was ice and huge snowfall in Slovenia, on Snežnik it rained heavily. Today or at night a little snow fell.

NO ICE EITHER ON THE ROAD FROM ILIRSKA BISTRICA TO SVIŠČAKI, NOR ON THE PATH FROM SVIŠČAKI TO SNEŽNIK! On Friday and Saturday we were three with the warden on Snežnik.
Road to Sviščaki normally drivable and path trodden. Snow fell on Snežnik till Sunday somewhere between 20 and 60 cm, on Sviščaki it was raining, today it is snowing.

Today quite a substantial visit to this part of the Dinarides.
Road to Sviščaki is quite icy in the last kilometer and requires careful driving.
Weather today of course....wintry. Strong wind on top and fog took away the chance to enjoy the views. Crampons are recommended, especially on descent.
Track is made, but wind constantly covers it.

Despite wet and rainy winter in Notranjska, Snežnik stubbornly defends its name as winter rules on it. Southern winds have taken some snow cover, but have little effect on northern slopes, so rewards await those who are willing to make an effort there.
Unfortunately weather change is forecast again, so conditions will change quickly.
If snow improves, if rain then...

Today on Snežnik nice sunny and windy day. Plenty of snow, which doesn't pose an obstacle, track is firm and didn't break through today. Many visitors. Road to Sviščaki from Ilirska Bistrica is normally drivable. Towards Stari Log closed due to ice storm. Nice regards

I was up there last Saturday and Sunday.
Descended on Sunday around 13h in mix of strong south wind, rain, graupel and snow, which by my estimate raised snow cover by about 10 cm.
Unfortunately during weekend mostly rained and took away, as we estimated, from 50 up to 100cm of snow.
I assume another 20cm fresh snow fell by today, but need to check.
