According to webcams at Sviščaki no snow. On the top it looks a bit white. But now it's cloudy or foggy, so can't see well if there's snow on the path to the hut.

Extremely dry air in the heights offered yesterday a view of many distant peaks, up to the Dolomites, which are about 200 km away.
Atmosphere still does its thing, so images for better contrast and colors are quite processed and thus somewhat unnatural. Details of distant peaks I could recognize only on the monitor, partly with the program http://www.udeuschle.selfhost.pro/panoramas/makepanoramas_en.htm

There's nothing to say, opazovalec, the blue dominated in many shades, but you also have a good eye that your view reaches so far. Beautiful! Regards

Koča na Snežniku, by the keepers' decision, this weekend 9. and 10. January 2016, closed due to bad weather forecast. Road to Sviščaki regularly plowed but not salted everywhere, so caution due to ice on sections. Path to Snežnik mostly snowy; if wind didn't blow tracks, there's gaz but big ice chance, so great caution especially on descent.

Yesterday on Snežnik and Sviščaki. Morning already on Sviščaki, -4 degrees indicated a cold day. On start and on path about 25-30 cm snow which burja piles into drifts. Top unfortunately fog and burja at -9 degrees. Hut open, lots of visitors for such a day.

On Saturday, 23.1.2016 on Snežnik. Start from the mountain hut at Sviščaki. On top some snow, but no problems with ascent. Gaz is made, no ice. Weather was cloudy, but nice tour.

Just talked with the hut keeper, he says 1 m snow - wet. Hut closed this weekend.
But just talked with someone who went up with skis and skiing conditions very demanding due to wet snow. Advises to wait for freeze for skiing. I'll probably go tomorrow, alas without skis.

To Sviščaki road BP. We were a bit late so at 10:30 parking full like ski resort still operating. To top like highway, upper part hard but not icy.
Top orkanic jugo, ski north side on hard snow, re-ascend to top and ski on south slope where late hour noticeable, already too soft.

Me too on the summit today. Up to two thirds of the trail we trudged through completely untouched whiteness, on the last third others made the track for us.
The road to Sviščaki was plowed today and is passable without issues, but tomorrow it will probably be different.
