Edelweiss (more shy sizes) I only noticed this Sunday (27.06.) and on the northern slopes, so I assume on more sunny places they are much bigger and in all their beauty. Unfortunately I didn't remember to photo them, but caught a couple Murk.

Today we set off early morning from Grda draga towards Snežnik summit. Ascent is quite steep but very pleasant and varied. Last half hour climbing with very nice view on surrounding hills, forests, sea, ... Before arriving to the top Mali Snežnik cheered us then another twenty minutes and we were at Veliki. View here also phenomenal, not speaking of hut owners friendliness - super they are! Really nice trip and to Snežnik definitely again1

Today was a great day for visiting Snežnik from Gašperja. Weather sunny no wind, really pleasant autumn.

This morning Snežnik was quite frozen. I forgot to ask Slavko and Janja how many minus it was today.

Today it was quite cold, sunny and windy. Wonderful view of Kvarner Bay! I also must praise the friendliness of the hut owners!

Also yesterday Snežnik showed a real winter picture. Rocks were frozen, so you had to be careful stepping on the path. It was also blowing quite strongly. Hut open, atmosphere pleasant, strudels unique.

Already by "tradition", at first snowfall I go to Snežnik which never disappoints. And today neither. It was raining almost to Sviščaki. At Sviščaki it was already snowing. Higher in the forest real winter fairy tale with white branches bending to the ground under the weight of wet snow. From the end of the road (turning place) it started blowing. At the saddle (where the wood is) as usual gale-force wind. Higher 15-20 cm of heavy snow, scree in blizzard. On top fairy tale, real balm for the soul. A little below the top I met the warden and his lady returning, probably at such weather not expecting many visitors in the hut. Since I knew visibility "is equal or a little more than zero", didn't drag the camera. Although I did the tour state/official, it was very nice.

Today, 21 October, I was on Snežnik. In the morning the path was icy from the saddle and towards the top. Snow for a sample. At the top it was windy and around -6 degrees. Met only 4 hikers on the path.

Today I decided to go to Snežnik, which was nicely snow-covered on the northern side.

You have to leave the car at the old "Italian", that's the intersection for Gašperjev hrib. If you have 4WD you can go to Gašper. Snow was cca 15-20cm very wet up to 1600m or to the junction for Sežanje (signposts below Snežnik). Further foggy, misty and windy. Saturday was therefore much worse than Friday regarding weather and views. sklopi, was the last picture taken from Bobr bar or vicinity. So we're both from the Valley.

On Sunday up in fog and cloudy weather, down in rain that locally turned to snow. On top and a bit lower knee-deep snow (if you kneel).

Last Sunday there was just under half a meter of dry snow without base. Great for hiking, soft dry powder up to the knees, no problem. Now there must be around a meter, surely nice dry powder. The path to Sviščaki regularly plowed, to Snežnik always trodden (unless you go in the dark like me, but that has its charm too...).

Sunny weather and more than a meter of snow lured crowds of hikers, ski tourers and boarders to Snežnik. To find some parking spot, you have to set off earlier. The path is well trodden (as igorf mentioned before). Bushes can hardly be seen anymore. In the last hundred meters a strong wind was blowing annoyingly. Great trip, I recommend when there is no strong bura .

Does anyone know if the road castle Snežnik-Mošun is passable, from the junction that turns left towards Sviščaki? Lp.
