Today circular path via Poden, which is almost entirely dry, so I didn't need crampons, to Krekova hut and back via Razor to Prtovč. For the path over Razor, as "knap4227" already wrote, it's good to have them with you. (pictures with mobile)

Started from Prtovč via Planina Razor to Gladki vrh, past Krekova hut to Altemaver, then to Kremant. Back same path to Krekova hut, then via Povden to start. Nice, but quite windy..

I also went on Wednesday (23 March) to Ratitovec from Prtovč to Poden (left, sunnier variant), which is dry. Down via Razor, one would need crampons there.

Parkeljc: What a beautiful day we "made". For regular Ratitovec visitors, such wind is quite normal, otherwise both were already at Prtovč when it started blowing. nasmeh

Yes Jože, thanks for some very useful info at the top! When you drove off, it blew so strongly a few times it whistled! That's why I hurried home quickly too.. velik nasmeh

Katty, I wasn't up but I see it from home. No new snow, southern path (via Povden) dry, on Razor surely still snow.

Katty, I was up Sunday. Path via Povden snow-free, returned via Razor where I'd need crampons cuz still lots of snow, but nice anyway, summit completely windless. Nice day!nasmeh

Today headed to Ratitovec. Mid-week, didn't expect crowd. Nor was there.jezikConditions improved after 12:30, met quite a few hikers descending.nasmeh
Started with dad at 10:30 from Prtovč to Po(v)den. Pleasant path completely dry. Last few meters some snow patches, but they'll melt soon. At Golem vrh took photos, then to Razor. Still some snow but no issue. No gaiters or crampons needed. To vary, went past hunting hut to Prtovč.nasmehnasmeh
In short, great weather, barely wind at Krekova hut.
Maybe back Saturday.mežikanje

Today after a long time back a bit in the hills. Ratitovec is closest to me, so no doubt where. Great weather, just windy on top. Up via Povden, down via Razor. Path is dry, just some patches on the path via Razor. In the hut standard good flancati. And some pics taken with mobile phone, cos camera sadly stayed home.

Yes really, Saturday weather on Ratitovec was summer favourable, if disregard quite strong wind on top; path chosen same up via Povden, down via Razor; snow practically no more, even via Razor fully ok and no crampons needed at all; views though velik nasmeh; regards

Yesterday I headed to Ratitovec again.
Went up via Povden, down via Razor. Weather sunny, quite strong wind below at Prtovč and on top at Krekova hut. Path now very nice on both sides. Due to SW wind view not quite five star but.. still nice day. But on the way up (via Povden) met a black snake so careful, esp on rocky part mežikanje. Regards

Today nice weather, almost no mud, just right amount of visitors. Path from Prtovč via Povden appealed to me more than return via Razor. Worth the effort from hut to one of the summits, we went to the highest Altemaver jezik.

For me Ratitovec is a pleasant trip and so it was today too. Drove to Prtovč and via Povden headed to summit. Hut still closed weekdays, so no smell of flancati. Returned via Razor.

Recommend extending the path to Pečana pasture. Worth it. I go to Razor and then instead left to hut turn right to Vratca and nicely on along the valley to Pečana and from there to summit. Path extended by half hour, but completely easy. Flower lovers also get their money's worth.nasmeh
