And one more thing: on the PD Železniki website you can view an excellent presentation of Ratitovec in Powerpoint made by Mr. Janez Medvešek. Worth watching!

Today again a little around Ratitovec. From Prtovč to Razor and right past Vratc to Kosmati vrh. The path is well marked, markings renewed and clearly visible. From there I descend to planina Klom, return to Vratc and down the valley to planina Pečana. From Pečana to Gladki vrh and to the hut. Return via Povden back to Prtovč. In the hut I treated myself to excellent ajdove žgance with sour milk. Excellent. Also praise to PD for exceptionally well-kept toilets in the hut. In short nice trip, recommend to flower lovers. Especially visit to Kosmati vrh and path from Vratc to Pečana. Walked less than 4 hours with stops.

Today early morning again a little on Ratitovec. Namely over Razor to Vratca and past the hut to Altemaver, Kremant to Kačji rob and back. Along the ridge exceptional views of the Julians, and no heat yet in the morning hours. And quite few visitors. Nice trip, by the way this is about half the path between Soriska planina and Krekova hut.

I think Krekova hut is renovated again, so we'll have to go check what's new . Looks like the fog line was really around 1300m. At least some of you enjoyed the sunshine ...

Nothing. Paths over Povden and Razor are completely dry. Only on the sides there was some here and there as a sample.

Given recent early morning hikes we chose today a very short and late afternoon one. We decided for nearby Ratitovec and Altemaver. From Bohinj side the road to below Pečana is normally drivable. At the top we were surprised by wonderful ivy which persisted in shade until late afternoon. At Altemaver top we waited for sunset and then home. Very windy and cold, but still nice Some pictures: http://www.petersfoto.si

Hi. Does anyone know if a bear really walks these paths (route Porezen-Ratitovec-Črna prst)? That's the rumor. I heard some hikers saw it.

Such info appears every year. It does occasionally wander around here (Porezen Soriska planina, Jelovica), but I think the paths are so crowded that the bear avoids them and stays away. I myself on the way to Ratitovec (from Soriska planina) years ago ran into its paw prints .

Has anyone been up there recently after last snowfall, is it trodden yet?

@baxi Ratitovec is daily crowded and I almost dare say it's trodden, though I haven't been up recently. If nothing else the most avid Ratitovec friends have trodden it.
