there is really little snow. But that's the situation from last week. So maybe I'll choose Cmirom (Begunjski vrh) after all or give up.

Adding some of my impressions from yesterday. Weather was great, moderate crowd - quite a few foreigners, huge number of edelweiss along the path and those nice big ones.
I went up with the gondola. Down via Planina Suha to Ribčev Laz. Although I didn't return to the start, the path was mostly through forest and in shade, and I even had time for a lake swim on the way back. Still, I (by chance) avoided walking along the road back. 
Otherwise, there's a bus in Bohinj so you can combine like that for return to the gondola.

I was browsing these pages a bit today and noticed that SuzanaM was quite a frequent visitor to Rodica for a while, often exactly from this direction like us on Sunday, from the village Rut. She already knew that beauty and peace can be found here.
Already in quite early morning, three mouflons crossed our path in the forest, right after that in the slopes above the path among trees there was a lot of movement to sense, there must have been many, so animals in these parts also have their peace.
Weather on Sunday on the path changeable, as it likes to be on Rodica. During ascent more foggy and cold, at the top it opened a bit for moments, then closed again. During descent later there was more clarity.
First part of the path we followed steps from previous day, higher towards the top tracks were already snowed over. So it was like first steps on completely virgin snow.
On entire path met only one couple with dog and that on return. They whined a bit about strenuous ascent

On Saturday 6.7.2019 I ascended from Ravan towards Črna prst. Followed a traverse towards Rodica. Wonderful flowers accompanied me. Descended via Suha to Ribčev laz. Recommend having swimsuits in the backpack. At the end of the path the wonderfully fresh Bohinj Lake awaits you.

We two also used the last sunny and warm day for a mountain tour. Rodica has been on our minds for quite a while. From Ski hotel on Vogel we were on top in 2 hours 15 min. The whole day not a single cloud anywhere. On the way back we stopped also at Šija, where compared to the peace on Rodica crowds of people were rolling in.

Yesterday (Sunday, 29.12.2019) via Javorje and Lepa Suha. Road is snow-free. Light snow starts soon above parking, to planina Suha the cover rises to under twenty cm, so it stays in the whole dwarf pine area. Path is nicely trodden (not too much, so as not to slip). Higher, in Lepa Suha area and further to top snow almost completely blown away, grass covered with thin crust that broke through and allowed comfortable walking without crampons. To top via NW ridge from pass between Mala and Velika Rodica. Strong wind, path mostly rocky, last three or four meters snowy, icy and nasty. On top alone, as if by miracle almost no wind, so could enjoy wonderful views in peace. All our highest Alps like on the palm.
Returned via marked path on SW ridge, where few cm soft blown snow and almost no wind. Ice axe and crampons stayed in backpack.
