ribic, some of us respect the Day of the Dead, among them probably the hut keeper too, so he has a strong excuse. You however had the chance to get the Slovenian Mountain Trail stamp all year long!

Day of the Dead or not, there are other major holidays when huts are open. If PZS says the hut is open on holidays, then it's expected to be so. If not, the keeper could post it visibly or it could be on the PZS website. The stamp should be in an accessible place, i.e. outside the hut if it's closed. After all, the purpose of the stamp is to be available to all hikers regardless of when they arrive at the mountain/hut. About respecting the Day of the Dead we can say something elsewhere, because this is not the place. We can remember the dead in other ways or throughout the year, not just on the Day of the Dead at the cemetery...

@ribic Don't rely too much on the PZS website, better call the keeper's number and ask, speaking from experience.

With all respect to the day of remembrance for the departed (our priest was allergic if someone said Day of the Dead, that's really disrespectful naming!!), but its advocates are usually those with GUILTY CONSCIENCE, before they didn't know how to appreciate our dear departed when they were alive, but for 01.11. they carry flower arrangements to the grave and 1000 candles and I don't know what else they carry to that marble. That departed doesn't need anything, nothing will revive him, it would be better if everyone prayed a Guardian Angel prayer or Our Father to themselves, both the living and the departed would benefit much more from that, and the environment wouldn't be polluted with candles. Eh better that I shut up because it makes no sense anyway, it's all so purely Don Quixote-like. And one more thing, one should fear the living, not the departed, I have no problems with going or when I go at 10 pm or midnight to the grave, it rather calms me because everything is so peaceful and quiet. It's all in the head. Good night and peaceful, calm night.

What does what's written above have to do with the conditions?

ribic: do you go to the mountains only once a year and on the day of remembrance for the dead? If you were a real mountaineer you wouldn't rely on PZS notices, call the keeper to bring the stamps home! Hribovc: by profession you're probably a gravedigger

Good day, how much snow is there on the route Sleme-Smrekovec-Golte? Thanks for the answer.

30-40cm, where there are snowdrifts even more.

@ada you're talking nonsense or reading it your own way. Stamps are there so a mountaineer can "stamp" them into the Slovenian mountain trail booklet. And their purpose is to always be accessible even when the hut is closed, etc. Regarding the rest it's not worth wasting words...

GričarA Thanks for the answer. But I found out they have the hut closed in December. They say the road is impassable due to !vlk" snow. I hope they clear it by January when they'll open it again. Apparently from 1 January on there won't be snowing anymore and no more road accessibility issues. The stamp is locked in the hut. Take care.

@strikan On Saturday there's a farewell, you're right! On Sunday they'll treat the hangover. The hut will be officially closed.

ribic: find out how many stamps were stolen this year and you'll soon understand why they're under lock, regarding the rest you're right not worth wasting words it says it all .... Strikan: you're poorly informed

@ada Look how they do it in Primorska. Bine installs a box with welded stamp on it. If someone wants to steal it they need a "flex". Your statement really surprises me because I was 100% sure you live there all honest folks. Yeah immigrants change a lot for the worse.

What are immigrants? Was julius's mother an immigrant and changed things for the worse? Where do honest folks live?

Apparently you have a new keeper at Smrekovec, is this a joke or truth?

There's a new caretaker at Smrekovec, I was up there today by car, you can drive all the way to the hut, at the top it was very windy, new snow about 3cm, road is clear of course but there's some old from the hut onwards
